Story
I may be tiny, but my heart is huge! I’m Ketchup, a 5-month-old Chihuahua mix full of life, love, and tail wags. I was born in the cold winter, after my brave mama was found tied up and abandoned. Thankfully, kind humans at Dream Tails Rescue saved us—and now I’m looking for a forever family to call my own. I’m super affectionate and I love people so much! Whether you're a grown-up or a kid, I’m always ready to come say hi with my happy energy. I also get along great with other dogs—I’ve got wonderful social skills for such a little pup! At home, I’m doing really well with potty training. I use pee pads and have about a 95.5% success rate—pretty impressive for a baby like me, right? When it comes to walks, I’m still learning. I get excited and want to explore everything, so I’ll need some gentle leash training. But I’m smart, curious, and eager to learn—especially if there are treats involved! I might be small in size, but I have so much love to give. I’m ready to grow up in a safe, cozy home where I’m cherished and protected. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and snuggly companion to brighten your days, I just might be your perfect match. Will you be my forever family? 🧡 Love, Ketchup 🐾

Story
Milly is an 8-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of love, just waiting to be unlocked. This little lady came into our care after the heartbreaking passing of her beloved owner. While she's been through a lot of change recently, we're dedicated to finding her the perfect, loving home she deserves. In her previous life, Milly enjoyed the company of other small dogs, mostly Chihuahuas just like herself! She’s also good with cats. She's comfortable around canine companions her size, however, she didn’t receive much socialization outside her immediate pack and lacks experience in areas like leash walking. Since coming into care Milly has learned that peeing outside isn’t so bad so she is now house trained. Since joining our rescue Milly has been making strides adapting to wearing a harness and experiencing the simple pleasures of a walk, like sniffing the fresh grass beneath her little paws. Milly is searching for a special home, one with someone who understands the unique charm and quirks of the Chihuahua breed. She is best suited in a home with a single person or a quiet couple who can provide her with the individual attention and unwavering love she craves. Milly bonds deeply with her person and will be a loyal and affectionate companion. She is not suited for a busy home with children. It's important to remember that losing her owner has left Milly feeling scared and unsure. She needs a patient and understanding owner who will allow her the time and space to adjust to her new surroundings. She appreciates calm environments and a gentle approach as she learns to trust and feel secure again. Milly is a sweet and deserving girl who deserves to spend her golden years in a loving and supportive home. Important Considerations: Experience with Chihuahuas: Knowledge of the breed's specific needs and tendencies is a definite plus! Patience and Understanding: Milly needs time to adjust and build trust. Quiet Home Environment: A calm and predictable environment will help her feel safe and secure. Future Veterinary Care: Milly has had a full dental procedure, and there is a possibility she may need a future procedure to address eye ulcers. This is fully covered by the rescue to ensure her ongoing health and well-being.

Location: Didsbury, AB// Age: Approx 3 years// Sex: Neutered male// Energy level: Low/medium// Vaccines: Up to date// Dogs: Yes// Cats: Untested but likely yes// Kids: Yes, but would be happiest living in a kid free home// Medical: Manito's health checks out great, but he has had a couple "wobbly episodes" in the past, our medical coordinator can explain to any interested adopters. Meet Manito – the one-eyed wonder with a heart full of love and a happy dance to match! 🌞💃 Manito is a charming little chihuahua, about 3 years old, who’s ready to find his forever sunbeam (and family) to call his own. Neutered, vaccinated, and full of gentle good vibes, Manito is the definition of easy-going. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves nothing more than a short, casual stroll—he’s a perfect little walker on leash and enjoys getting out at least once a day. While he’s an independent guy, Manito also loves to be near his people. If you’ve got a good lap, he’s got a great cuddle ready for you! Like many chihuahuas, he’s got a bit of that classic protective streak and enjoys eating his food in a peaceful place. He also doesnt enjoy other dogs disturbing him while he sleeps, so respectful friends are important. He would thrive in a calm, quiet home without children or high-energy pets. Think cozy vibes, soft blankets, and sunshine naps. Speaking of sunshine—Manito’s favourite pastime is lounging outside in a warm patch of sun. A backyard or sunny patio is a must-have for this little sunbather. When he’s happy (which is often), he busts out his adorable happy dance—it’s guaranteed to make you smile. Manito is uniquely handsome with one soulful eye and quirky little crooked toes that only add to his charm. He’s not crate trained but doesn’t need to be—he’s completely non-destructive and does just fine with free roam when left alone for short periods. He’s still working on his house training, but he’s getting better every day with a little patience and consistency. If you’re looking for a chill, sun-loving companion with a heart of gold, a touch of sass, and a dance that will brighten your day, Manito just might be your perfect match. 💛 complete an application on our website to apply to meet him: www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com

Story
Location: Didsbury, AB. Age: Approx 5 years Size: Small Sex: Neutred Male Energy level: Low Vaccines: Up to date Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes Kids: Kids 15+ Meet Toto, a sweet and shy boy with a heart full of love to give. Toto may take some time to adjust to a new home, but once he trusts you, his affection is endless. His journey has been a little rocky, and he’s still learning to feel safe in the world around him. Toto’s kennel is his safe haven, and while he loves to cuddle up on the bed with his human, he feels most secure sleeping in his kennel at night. Toto is a very quiet boy and hasn’t barked a single time—he’s peaceful and gentle, never a troublemaker. However, he’s quite nervous about being picked up or handled, and leashed walks are too overwhelming for him at the moment. He’ll need a patient adopter who understands that he might need time to build confidence and feel comfortable in new situations. Toto gets along well with other dogs and would be fine around dog-savvy cats, though he appreciates his space, especially when he’s sleeping in his kennel. He’s a bit of a homebody and has enjoyed camping trips with his foster family, though he’d rather stay in a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. This sweet boy eats a special dehydrated dog food that’s easy on his sensitive teeth, as many of his teeth were removed. Despite his ruff start, Toto has never held a grudge—he’s all about the love and enjoys getting spoiled. One of the cutest things about Toto is his pre- and post-meal “dance”! He’s so excited for food time that he can’t help but do a little happy wiggle and shuffle before and after each meal. It’s a small, adorable quirk that’s guaranteed to make you smile! Toto is looking for an adopter who will be patient and understanding, someone who can give him the time and care he needs to blossom into the affectionate companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to offer Toto a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe, secure, and showered with affection, he just might be the perfect fit for you! Toto would do best in a home with another pet and no children due to his nervous nature. A quiet, stable home with a predictable routine would be a dream for this boy. If you think your home would be a good match for Toto, please complete an adoption application on our website and one of our team members will be in touch with you shortly via email to arrange a phone interview.

Story
All About Me Name: Blanc Age: Approx. 10 years old Gender: Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Pomeranian Color: White Weight: 4.5kg / 9lbs Height (to shoulder): 40 cm   Hello everyone! My name is Blanc. I was born and raised in Pyeongtaek. Long story short, I have been through a lot. I ended up staying at the Pyeongtaek city shelter as an unclaimed dog, and once up on the list of euthanasia. A warm-hearted rescuer heard this news, and they decided to take me out of the city shelter to avoid euthanasia! Thanks to their beautiful soul, so I am here to find my forever family who would embrace my wound and scar.   My Health - Vaccination : Up to date (vaccinations for 2025 scheduled) - Patella luxation surgery : performed in 2024. August - Allergy : Any reaction has never been observed - Might show some cough during Spring/fall(seasonal)   My Personality I’m a calm and loving little lady who adores people. Whether you’re someone I’ve known forever or someone I just met, I’ll happily trot over and lean in for some affection. I don’t mind being picked up either in fact, I find comfort in being gently held close. If you lift me up with your arms under my belly, I’ll settle right in and enjoy the moment. Children? Oh, I’m quite fond of them. I’m gentle and patient, making me a great companion even for little ones under 13. My nature is steady and kind, and I always aim to make the people around me feel calm and loved.   Social Skills - With People: I love being near humans! I greet familiar friends and strangers alike with warmth and ease. - With Dogs: I’m more of a people-dog, but I’m very polite with other pups. I’ll say hello, especially if they’re around my size or smaller. If the dog is much bigger than me, I am a little scared! I don’t know if they are going to be friendly to me. but I usually prefer doing my own thing. I am not comfortable having other dogs around me when I am eating. Please keep me separated from them when I am enjoying my own meal - With Cats: I have lived with cats before. It was roughly 2 month, and I tend to yap at them! They are very interesting to me. When I see cats outside of my house, I am very cool. I would like to focus on people!   Life at Home I’m the perfect companion for a relaxed, loving household. I don’t bark much, preferring instead to take in the world calmly and quietly. I’m comfortable settling down in a kennel when needed and riding well in the car as long as I get to be in your arms, I feel safe. I use both indoor pads and go outside for potty time, so I’m flexible when it comes to routines. I like playing with nose work toys! Smelling and sniffing provide me happiness and it makes my brain busy.   On My Walks‍ I enjoy quiet walks and will generally follow your lead, though now and then I get curious and may tug just a little. The world has so many smells and sounds to explore! I walk at a peaceful pace and love being by your side as we take it all in together. I don’t really like big car noises. So I will need much patience to adjust myself in a busy city! I would love to learn this with you and hope you can show me the new world.   My Ideal Home Many people who get to know me say that I am a perfect dog! I am a kind, beautiful and gentle dog. I would love a peaceful home with someone who appreciates the quiet magic of a gentle companion. I’m not looking for adventure or chaos just a warm lap, kind hands, and someone to share each day with. If you’re looking for a sweet, serene presence to bring calm and love into your life, I may just be the perfect match. Story
My name is Zephra. I am a 5 yr old Chinese crested and about 10 lbs. I am very shy and timid. I would do best in a home where my people are home most of the time. I am good with my foster sister, who is a big boxer, and I also don`t mind the cat I am staying with. I don`t pay her any attention, nor do I chase her at all. I like getting pets and love when I am sitting on the couch or in your bed, but i don`t like it when you approach me when you are standing. I get too scared! I am working on my potty training, but I am still not perfect. I would do best in a quiet home with older children (or no children) and a doggie friend to play with and follow around. I`m working on being quiet in my kennel, and im doing so much better because im with boxer foster sister who helps keep me calm. I`m not leash trained, but I enjoy going for walks and exploring all the new smells. I also love watermelon and being outside. Come meet me and maybe we can be furever friends. fill out an application today, or call 403 816 0759 if you have any questions.https://calgaryanimalrescue.com/
