Sometimes a name just fits, and Precious is definitely one of those dogs. At 10 years young, she's a sweet, gentle, low-energy girl who can be timid at first, but give her a little time and her affectionate personality begins to shine. Precious gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has settled right into her foster pack (3 large dogs and 2 other chihuahuas) she's even starting to play a little! She loves being near her person—curling up beside her foster mom while she works or occasionally deciding they should share the office chair. She enjoys cuddles but is also perfectly content relaxing on her own. Once Precious bonds with you, she becomes your little lookout and will alert you when she hears something unfamiliar. She's shy with new visitors and just needs a little time to warm up. She's crate trained, walks well and has the cutest little prance. She gets around great and even uses a stool to hop onto the bed. Precious is also discovering TREATS—and she's a big fan! She's got quite the nose for people food, too. One exception: peanut butter is unacceptable. Precious has standards. She's still working on potty training and will let you know when she needs a nighttime potty break. She has no known pre-existing medical conditions. Precious may be 10, but she's still discovering new things and showing us more of her personality every day. She's looking for a patient, loving home where she can enjoy plenty of cozy spots, treats (hold the peanut butter!) and companionship. Sweet, gentle and just a little shy—that's our Precious. Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness.In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. Hi, My name is Charlie. I am the cutest LOWRIDER. I was born on a cold day in January. I had 11 siblings, but my mom couldn’t feed us all. I was taken in by my foster mom when I was just two days old. I was so small. Now I’m a big boy! Ok, I may be small in size, but I have a big personality! I’m not yappy like a lot of small dogs so I won’t disturb your neighbors. I love playing with other dogs. I also like to play outside where I can chase bugs and play with leaves and sticks. I love chew toys like my Nylabone. I also like tug and crinkle toys. I’m crate trained and do okay in a crate, but I prefer to be with my people. Ever since I learned to go potty outside, I’ve had the run of the house and I even get to sleep in bed with my foster mom and dad. Did I mention I loooove food? I’ll show you some cool spin moves when you bring my meals. I also know how to sit patiently and wait my turn for treats. I’m new to walking on a leash, but I’ve been doing really well. Hi there! My name is Pokey. I didn’t pick that name myself, but I guess it kind of stuck. The nice lady who found me gave it to me because I was always the one trailing behind my three siblings. We were out in a really rural part of Arkansas, just trying to figure things out after being left on our own. It was scary, but she made sure we were safe. At first, she thought I was just a little slow… but the truth is, I think I just felt a bit left out. My siblings didn’t always make space for me, and my brother could be kind of hard on me. Sometimes I’d wander off and spend time down the road at a neighbor’s house, just looking for a little peace and kindness. That sweet lady didn’t know how she was going to help all of us, but she didn’t give up. She reached out to The Buford Project Rescue, and they stepped in to give me a chance. I’m really glad she did. It didn’t take me long to claim my favorite chair when I arrived on the scene with my foster family. It fit me pretty perfectly and I love curling up there. I’m only about 32 pounds so I am the perfect size! Some more fun facts about me! Mr. Popular: I LOVE doggie daycare! I play well with everyone because, let’s face it, the party doesn’t really start until I arrive. First Through the Gate: I believe in being a leader, not a follower. If there’s a gate to go through, I’m your guy. Why walk when you can lead the parade? 😎 Part-Time Cat? I’m a little disappointed that my feline foster sibling can’t come with me when I get adopted. We love hanging out together, and honestly, I’m starting to think I might have a little cat in me.
