I was looking for a small dog for my mother in law. She recently lost her cuddle buddy. I came across a post on Facebook about 2 small dogs but do to me not asking alot of questions, I got 2 adorable dogs for nothing but paid the price a couple days later when one of the dogs for no reason attacked and killed my smaller dog that has never showed any kind of aggression towards another dog or person for that matter. So I'm telling my story to make sure the male that I got can be rehomed and not cause anyone else pain. He is a very sweet dog but should be the only dog unsure about cats. Basement Puppy - Cocoa Hello there! My name is Cocoa and I am the smallest one of my litter of 5 puppies who were born under a house. It was nice and cozy for a while, but then we got rescued at 5 weeks and came to our foster mom. Our mom was a little 13 pound chihuahua looking mama dog. Mom was a wild child so we came to the rescue to learn to love people and have a home so we don’t have to walk on the wild side. We love being with our foster mom and playing with the different dogs at the house. One thing you should know is that I can walk through puppy gates as I am that small. So I regularly leave the puppy room and go to the back to see the chihuahua named Busy Boots and the poodles who hang out there. It is fun! Some of us look like perhaps mom or even dad had some pug in them, as we have some of the coloring or the shorter mugs of a pug. But all of us are 100% adorable! I favor the chihuahua side I think. I will be on the small side, depending on what genetic size my rambler dad brought, but I should be under 15-20 pounds fully grown. I get my baby making bits removed on January 5, 2026 and then will be able to go to my forever home. Will that be with you? Basement Puppy - Dasher I am the smallest of the boys in this litter of 5 puppies. We were born under a house, not really in a basement, but it was cozy and warm and we grew into loveable puppies! Anyhow, mom was a wild child so we came to the rescue to learn to love people and have a home so we don’t have to walk on the wild side. It is too scary out there to be by yourself when you are little like me! Ms. Precious — there truly couldn’t be a more fitting name for this sweet little soul Ms. Precious is a 12-pound apple-head Chihuahua, about 4 years old, with the gentlest heart. She adores being part of a family and enjoys the company of both humans and other animals. Her early life lacked the love and attention she deserved, so when she first arrived in foster care, she needed a little extra TLC and patience to learn that people could be trusted. Once she did, she never looked back—and now she’s a happy, affectionate girl who loves deeply. She’s fully vaccinated and spayed. Vet visits were scary for her at first due to past experiences, but with a muzzle and reassurance she handled it well, and she continues to grow more confident as her trust builds. Ms. Precious does well with both dogs and cats, though she can be a bit intimidated by more dominant animals and benefits from gentle reassurance. She is incredibly sweet, calm, and soft-natured. She spent most of her life using potty pads, but she can go outside and has already shown that with consistency and routine, she can be housebroken. She’s smart, eager, and absolutely trainable. She may bark at tall men initially—tail wagging the whole time—clearly wanting to be friends but needing a little time to feel safe. With proper introductions and patience, she warms up beautifully.
