BUDDY IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTERMeet Buddy!Buddy came into our care with an injury to his hind leg. After further investigation from our vets, they have determined that he will need amputation in order to live the most comfortable life possible. Buddy is looking for a home that can give him all the care and love he deserves while going through this surgery and after. Buddy may have an irregularity with his heart, and there is a chance he might not have as much longevity as we would like, but he has so much love to give while he is here. Buddy will need to be kept very calm post surgery, but we expect him to heal up well and have good mobility long-term!Buddy is a sweet little dog that would love a warm lap to sit on for most of the day. He does not like being left alone but does better with a dog friend by his side if his people have to leave him. Buddy is currently in foster with a cat and is fairly indifferent about this new companion. If you think you could be Buddy's person, please tell us what would make your home the best fit for him in the question "anything more you would like us to know?" on our adoption questionnaire. *Buddy is not viewable in shelter and meet and greets will be scheduled by appointment only*Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Buddy's person? Apply today!Friendly tip: If you're looking for a surefire way to make your application to stand out, consider telling us a little bit about yourself in the "anything else you'd like us to know?" section! What brought you to adopt? Have you had any previous pets? What makes you the perfect match for this animal? Write as little or as much as you'd like!https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-victoria/ Visit the BC SPCA Victoria Center to potentially view this pet and apply to adopt in person; ORSubmit an online application and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit.Due to the high number of applications, we will only be contacting potential matches to further review their interest.PLEASE NOTE that some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Story
Introducing the darling Jennifer, a petite 2-year-old Chihuahua-Jindo mix weighing in at a delightful 10 kilograms. This precious pup has quite the story to tell, having been rescued from a kill shelter alongside her precious puppies. Jennifer is what you might call a "people person" in the canine world. She adores meeting new friends and welcomes them with open paws, allowing even strangers to lavish her with pets and cuddles. In fact, she's quite the social butterfly and doesn't mind being carried around like the little queen she is. And oh, don't even get her started on belly rubs – she's practically an expert at melting hearts with her irresistible display of a soft, fluffy belly begging for attention. Having been a devoted mom to her puppies, Jennifer has learned the art of sharing and getting along swimmingly with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She's a true peacemaker, always opting for a calm and collected approach when there's a sniff of conflict in the air. Whether it's a boisterous playmate or a gentle giant, Jennifer is all about spreading harmony and love in the doggy world. When it comes to cats, Jennifer's curiosity might pique when she spots a stray feline on her walks. But fear not – her focus remains firmly on her trusted handler, ensuring that she stays on track and doesn't get too distracted by those mysterious creatures with whiskers. Now, Jennifer may tend to pull a bit on the leash when she's overcome with excitement on her adventures. But fear not, for she quickly settles down once she's had a chance to take in the sights and sounds of her surroundings. And as for those tear stains? Well, it seems that chicken might be the culprit, but a little TLC and a carefully tailored diet will have her sparkling like the gem she truly is. This charming canine companion is seeking a forever family who can shower her with plenty of love and affection, along with a dose of tranquillity to match her serene disposition. If you believe Jennifer is "the one" for you, please don't hesitate to reach out to her devoted team. She's ready to sprinkle your life with endless joy and puppy kisses! 🐾 To see more videos:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhJGCgsllwY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JxsglforEc1FTB9vABc7T-8

Story
Woof! 🐾 Hey there, I'm a bit of a shy pup when you first meet me. I'm like a cat—I need about 3-7 days to warm up and show you my true, adorable personality. But hey, patience is the key to our friendship! I absolutely love other dogs. I can't resist saying hi to each and every furry friend, and my cute face tends to win them over. I'm happiest in a home where I can play and interact with another doggy buddy—I'm quite dependent on their company. When it comes to my energy level, I'm just right—moderate is the way to go. I enjoy outdoor adventures, but indoors, I'm the picture of calm and contentment. Walks are a bit new to me, so if something startles me, I might just plop down and pretend I'm invisible. Sharing is caring, especially when it comes to treats and toys. I'm more than happy to share them with my doggy pals. I'm also crate-trained, so I know how to cozy up in my crate when needed. Whether it's indoor playtime or taking care of business outdoors, I'm ready to be the best companion you've ever had. Can't wait to charm my way into your heart! 🐶❤️ Rescue story: My mom gave birth to 6 puppies in a shelter. All of my siblings have found their forever homes and I think I’m ready to find THE ONE!! Story
Mr Bear is a sweet and shy boy who needs a quiet home with a loving person who can help him transition to the world outside the ranch. A fenced yard is needed because Mr Bear is scared of walking on a leash. Lots of practice is needed in a secure yard first. Mr Bear loves home made food and treats, squeaky stuffies, sleeping under the covers, and loves affection. Mr Bear is approx 8-9 yrs old. He doesn’t care for dogs or cats Apply to: www.embracesociety.ca ##1988866##

Story
Sadie who is 12 is quite bonded with Brook who is approx 2. They share a room at the ranch, eat together, and sleep under the blankets together. Sadie is still very spry and can run as fast as her play pack. These two sweet girls are easy to care for and easy to love. Looking for them go go together. Ideally, they would have a secure fenced yard they could play in supervised. (They are small) Please let me know if you can share your home with these girls…  www.embracesociety.ca ##1988875##
