Story
Bella Jean is my sweetheart chihuahua looking for a new forever home. I am rehoming Bella Jean due to my own allergies that have worsened. Bella Jean LOVES cats and dogs and even sleeps in a bed with her family including children (aged 4 and 8) and the cat. All I want for her is a good home, that is why her price is free. I want her to have a family that will take excellent care of her but sadly, my health is being impacted due to my allergies. She has no issues behaviorally or medically. Please inquire to adopt today. She is the perfect piece missing from your family.

Story
Hi my name is Poppy.  I am a super sweet 2 year old chihuahua.  I am the best little girl you will ever find.  My foster mom says that I am so easy to care for.  I get along great with all the other dogs in my foster home whether they are small like me or bigger.  I am a little afraid of the really big one though and would definitely prefer a home with doggies my size.  I am also very good with the cats.  I was not house trained when I was first rescued but am doing so much better now.  We are in & out a lot and that has definitely helped.  As you can see from my pictures I love to be outside.  I am never out there alone though as I am too small to be safe.  I don't want one of those big birds to get me.  I would love a mom and dad that like to be outside and who will hang out there with me.  Maybe they would even take me for walks!!  I would love that.  A small fenced in area would be great too.  That way I can get my daily smells in.  I am spayed, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Poppy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)April 27, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
This handsome boy is called Sam Silver and he is a very deserving, 5 year old, 14 pound Chihuahua mix that came from a very overcrowded home that was labeled as a hoarder.  This boy is shy and just looking for a loving and grounded person or couple who will give him security, love and a peaceful existence.  If you have always wanted to truly make a difference in rescuing a dog in need, then Sam is the one you can help.  He is fine with other dogs and we could probably say that he is not housebroken yet but can be with guidance and a good schedule to follow.  If you want a devoted little Chihuahua, we know that Sam can give you that adoring commitment from his needy soul.  If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  He is ready to go! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 27, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
Rodney is a very sweet but frustrated senior guy!  In fact he is looking for a senior guy to be his last best friend forever in this world.  Rodney is a 9 year old 15 pound Chi mix that has a little attitude that is born from total frustration with the humans in his past life.   He came from a very dysfunctional home where dogs were running everywhere.  He was one of the “victims” of the human insanity.  What we want for Rodney is a quiet, senior home with a lap and very little demanded of him.  He will be a great dog if you just leave him to unfold and unravel from the chaos he has experienced for far too long.  We know this guy will love you forever and sometimes he will be a little snappy because he has been bounced around.  The shelter he is in is obviously not fun and not nice. This boy is needing a good home that is steady and loving and patient with him.  There will be some time needed for him to heal his heart and learn to trust.  He deserves some love and forgiveness if he is not perfect. This boy is about 15 pounds and looking for just some small little corner to call his own.   Please email us to help Rodney at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 27, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweetie seeking fresh start and love! FROSTINE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Frostine and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (April 28th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name: Frostine        Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix   Best Guess for Age:   3 years and 11 months as of April 2024        SEX: Female   Approximate Weight:  15.2 lbs   Gets Along With:   Frostine does well with other dogs and cats. Due to her breed mix, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12.  Currently Living at: DC area foster   Special adoption considerations:   Because Frostine was rescued and pulled from a shelter before she could be altered, she is not yet spayed. We have scheduled her to be spayed; however, if she is adopted before the spay, her adopter must assume responsibility for the spay. It must be completed by May 13, 3024; there are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. The adopter may take over the Lucky Dog appointment slot.  Frostine is also from a hoarding/cruelty situation, and was very scared at rescue. She was placed in a short term foster home pending a hoped-for flight to the DC area on 4/13 (foster or adopter needed for that to happen!) and has been making great strides! We think she will benefit from being in a home with a welcoming resident dog or having numerous opportunities to be around other dogs in various environments - they will show her how to dog in new places! Extra patient and loving humans are definitely needed. Additionally, due to her breed mix, she may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.    Frostine is Looking For:  For a loving home that delivers all the sweet things her rescuers whispered in her ear.... 'You're safe now, sweet girl. The life you deserve starts now. You get lots of love, quality kibble, a cushy dog bed - and a warm lap if you'd like too. You're safe now, sweet girl.'   Frostine was rescued from a hoarding/cruelty case and landed in a massive south Texas shelter that routinely has 1200-1500 animals in their care; her chances of being adopted in that area are, well, low to nil. She likely will be nervous in new environments and is eager to get her own humans - ones who get that she might need extra support during her adjustment and give her all the love and patience she needs. And ones who take her for sniffy walks and all those adventures she's been missing out on! And what do they get in return? An incredibly sweet and loving dog with an enormous stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship to offer the humans in her new chapter.     What do you say? Will you help her write it? What My Foster Says About Me: this little lady is so sweet! Frostine is super cuddly with me and plays well with the resident dog and cat. She’s been super quiet so we’re waiting to see when she’ll find her voice. Leash walking appears to be a new experience for but she’s making progres, Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. What My Foster Says About Me:   Malcolm is super sweet and made great strides since arriving. He did not know how to walk on a leash at first (he would just stand there and not move) and now he loves going for walks! He also loves to stare out the window. He follows me around everywhere and loves to cuddle. We are working on learning to ‘sit’ and he’s getting there. He has gotten much better with the potty training and gets along with other dogs (though he does appear more shy at adoption events than at home).
