Story
Rufus is a sweet, quirky, cuddly dog — but he is an “only-dog.” He lived with my mom and sister, who both unfortunately died this year. While I love him dearly, he does not get along with my current dog and can be territorial with other dogs. Rufus will be 10 years old in March 2025, but he is quite energetic and weighs 14 pounds. He has a congenital heart condition, for which he gets medication. He is crate-trained but is not 100% housebroken, so frequent walks with a couple of pee pads placed around the house are advisable. He occasionally has flaky skin and itchy ears, but both are easily treatable. He is loving and comical. He can shake on command. He loves taking walks and getting treats. He’s a climber, so all food must be placed well out of his reach. It breaks my heart to part with him, but I know that he will make a happy forever home with another family as an only-dog. 🥹

Story
My name is Mia and I am a loving and beautiful brindle 5-year-old Chihuahua girl that weighs 9 lb and nothing short of total perfection. This very pretty girl is affectionate and adores women and not so sure about men since she's never lived with one but seems to be a little weary at times. We do think she would do best in a very quiet home with a more mature couple or woman.   This girl is a bed bug snuggler and will sleep with you every night as your best companion that doesn't snore. Mia will also earn her keep as a little watchdog that will let you know when something outside is moving around that shouldn't be. She is definitely housebroken and wants to be with her special person all the time and sitting on your lap if you will let her. If you work from home she's the best office administrative assistant you would ever want. She listens and minds well and she is smart. She walks well on a leash and if she gets out the door she might run for the hills a little bit. She is always been inside 24/7 and prefers the comfort of plush blankets and pillows and good food. If you were interested in this beauty that rides well in the car and could ride on airplanes as well, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 10, 2024, 10:23 pm

Story
Our little blonde princess here is called Farrah Fawcett and she is a princess indeed. A very social and outgoing purebred Chihuahua, Farrah loves people and is young at the 3-year-old Mark and weighing only 10 lb. She's the perfect little Chihuahua that enjoys people and children and other dogs. She can be the only girl or she could join a household of other companion pets. She probably would not do well in an apartment since she is the alarm system and watchdog for her current Foster home. Anything that shouldn't be outside the door of the home she will notify you about. Apartment dwellers might not enjoy the security alarm bark. If you've had small breed dogs like this, you know that is their enjoyment in life to scare off any intruders near your property. This little girl is housebroken, crate trained and loves to snuggle under your bed covers or under your pajamas. She loves to sit on your lap and be your own personal Princess.  We know a little important nugget about Farrah and that she has a desire to run like the wind if she gets out the front door.  A fenced yard would probably make your life very simple and easy.  This little blonde bombshell is going to keep you smiling and laughing and feeling loved. The winter months ahead will be so much more snuggly and loving with this little girl by your side at bedtime and all during the day. If you are interested in Farrah Fawcett please write to Critter Cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 10, 2024, 10:23 pm

Story
Tootsie is an adorable little Chiweenie mix girl puppy who was born around June 1st and at Oct. 1st is appx. 4 months old.  At just 4 months she weighs12 lbs. And destined to be around 20-25 lbs as an adult. Tootsie was found wandering alone as a younger puppy and brought to a small rural shelter where good luck found her a foster  to take her home and show her how to be the perfect little family companion.  She is a very happy, energetic, and playful puppy running in her fenced backyard will be a must for her future family to provide her. She is very athletic and can jump pretty high for her size!  She has a very fun and entertaining personality and after lots of playtime she loves to snuggle and nap. She will stay in a crate quietly when needed but she is not completely potty trained, but is learning very quickly. Tootsie loves to play with her toys and enjoys chewy bones too.  She very warm and good friends with other dogs in her foster home and she enjoys playing and snuggling with them.  Tootsie is good with cats as long as they don't mind her playful puppy vibe. Tootsie would love an active home with people that will spend time with her and enjoy her playful ways but will also enjoy sitting and snuggling with her.  She really likes her doggie friends so a home with another dog would be ideal.  If you have all the elements to make Tootsie happy we promise she will in turn make you laugh and smile a lot as well. Story
Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Senior Chihuahua mix needs loving home JENNY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Jenny       Best Guess for Breed:   Chihuahua mix    Best Guess for Age:   12 years as of 9/30/2024         SEX:   female   Approximate Weight:   13 lbs. Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested. We would be cautious placing her in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.  Currently Living at:  Coming soon from a Texas shelter to a DC area foster home.  Special adoption considerations:  Because Jenny is being transferred into our care from a shelter before she could be spayed, she is not yet altered. Lucky Dog will alter her as soon as possible after arrival; however, if she is adopted before she is spayed, her adopter becomes responsible for ensuring she is spayed. Her adopter may take over the Lucky Dog appointment slot.  Jenny is Looking For: Jenny is a sweet senior who sadly found herself in the shelter through no fault of her own. She is eager to once again be safe and loved and under her own roof.  And this is what Jenny wants: Someone who admires the wisdom of a senior dog.  She loves to cuddle and is happiest when she’s snuggled up on a warm lap. Although she has slowed down a bit with age, she still enjoys short walks and exploring her surroundings. Like most Chihuahuas, she is likely to form a strong bond with her favorite human. Her large, expressive eyes and perky ears give her a curious and alert look. Despite her age, she still has a sprightly step and a wagging tail. Jenny will be a sweet and affectionate companion to some lucky person or family. What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update as soon as Jenny arrives and spends some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
