Story
This sweet girl came to us from a hoarding situation and is looking for her forever home! To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org

Story
Meet Griff Griff (brown and white) is a 10 lb. cutie patootie. We pulled this tiny Chihuahua and his brother Liam from a high kill shelter. The staff there had fallen in love with these two pups and asked us to pull them so they could find loving homes. The boys are 3.5 years old and have always been together. They were bottled fed as young pups and were adopted by their caretaker. We’d like to adopt them together as they have never known life without the other. They are definitely better together. The boys are a little shy, but once they feel safe they quickly warm up and look for the nearest lap to snuggle into. Griff follows Liam around and does what his brother does. So cute. Griff (and Liam) are well-mannered and quiet. They are pad trained and have always lived inside. They like other dogs and do fine with cats. They walk nicely on a leash and travel well. The boys would love a quiet home where they can bond with their people. Given how small they are, they’d probably do best in a home without young kids but could certainly be around young kids if supervised. These two brothers are easy going and will make for wonderful companions. They are fully vetted and neutered. If interested in welcoming Griff and his brother Liam to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Fozzie & Kermit: A playful and affectionate 5-year old, bonded sibling pair full of personality! Fozzie is a little reserved and sometimes shy, but he’s playful, sweet, and affectionate once he gets to know you. He enjoys lounging on the couch but also loves to join in on games and fun. Kermit is a total lovebug who has clearly never met a stranger. She’ll give you as many kisses as you’ll let her! She’s playful, friendly, and full of spunk. You can often find them cuddled up together during quiet times. Sometimes it’s hard to tell where one starts and the other ends. They also love playing with each other and a good game of fetch with the ball. They thrive as a pair and would do best in a calm home where they can get plenty of love and attention. Must be adopted together.   Breed: Chihuahua / Miniature Shepherd Mix ##2562628##
