Story
If quiet souls are your favorite kind, Betsy just might steal your heart.
At only 1 year old and 8 pounds, this precious Chihuahua is learning that life can be kind. Betsy came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation with 130 other dogs, so the world is still a big, unfamiliar place to her. She isn’t fearful forever—she just needs a little time, patience, and someone who understands that trust is earned.
One thing that gives Betsy confidence? Other small dogs! She absolutely needs a friendly, confident canine companion in her forever home to show her the ropes and help her continue blossoming. Watching another dog enjoy life helps Betsy realize she can too.
She is crate trained, rides well in the car, and is potty pad trained. Leashes are still new to her, so she’ll need a secure home and a family willing to let her learn at her own pace. Because sudden movements and loud activity can be overwhelming, Betsy is looking for a home without small children. Cats are unknown.
There was a brief moment when we thought Betsy was expecting puppies, but it turned out to be a false (pseudo) pregnancy. She has now been spayed, is healthy, and is more than ready to begin the next chapter of her life.
Betsy isn’t looking for perfection—she’s looking for patience, gentle encouragement, and a home where she can continue discovering just how wonderful life can be. The day she finally chooses your lap, follows you from room to room, or wags her tail with confidence will be a moment you’ll never forget.
Could you be the family that shows Betsy what love has always been meant to feel like? ❤️
