Tuppence is an 8 year old chihuahua/dachshund mix. I was told she is a 50/50 split, but I am not totally sure. She weighs about 13 pounds. She loves to laze about and can also be very playful. She is very alert and will bark when someone comes to the door or if things get too exciting for her. I hope her new home has someone who will give her snuggles and attention every day. She is fixed and has no major health issues. She once had cherry eye, but she had corrective surgery, and it hasn't returned. She has minor seasonal allergies and will sometimes have short fits of wheezing/ sneezing.

I didnandamp;#39;t get to interact with people much&#44 I had to scavenge for food&#44 and the outside world was a complete mystery. The only comfort I knew came from the dogs around me.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Now that Iandamp;#39;m safe&#44 Iandamp;#39;m learning how wonderful life can be&#44 but itandamp;#39;s all still a bit scary. I need a calm&#44 patient home where I can take my time learning to trust. Sweet little Peggy!! She is such a loving friend. Loves her people with every fiber of her being. And while she gets along fine with other dogs, cats and loves her foster's 7 year old. She does pretty well with house training, but will use pads inside. She goes into her crate willingly with a treat, but prefers to spend her time next to her people or in the dog bed close by. Peggy has some stiffness in her legs, but has responded well to glucosamine and a little gabapentin. She showed signs that she wasn't given the best nutrition, but a little fish oil on her food and her coat has softened up considerably. She is an older lady who wants nothing more than to curl up next to her people, or in someone's lap and enjoy her golden years. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best companion ever, Peggy scores an 11!!

Junco originally came from a home that did not foster much physical contact. He is very timid & prefers women over men. He is not a lap dog but once he trusts you he loves to snuggle up close to you under his blankie.
