Fill out an Online Adoption Application!   Meet Meldon — Applicant for His Forever Home This sweet boy is officially throwing his resume out there in hopes of finding a position that truly suits him!Meldon is a 5-year-old Rat Terrier and Chihuahua mix, and yes — his good looks and perfect size are definite bonuses. He’s confident, charming, and fully aware that he has a few “workplace quirks.” He’s a barker (and proudly so!). If you’re looking for someone to keep you informed about every delivery, squirrel, or mysterious noise outside, he’s your man. He’s also decided that his childcare and ESA career days are behind him — Meldon much prefers to work with mature adults who appreciate loyalty and a little sass. He can coexist with cats, as long as they understand he’s the boss and respect his personal space.Meldon’s personal life includes some impressive skills: Potty trained (with occasional puppy pad use at night) Crate trained, though he’s perfectly trustworthy loose in a room Non-chewer — he’s not one to destroy belongings Excellent car companion — he loves rides and will happily sit in the front seat or your lap Leash pro — he enjoys his walks and time outdoors Cuddle expert — at night, he sleeps on the bed and loves curling up on your stomach to snooze Clean and polite — he behaves wonderfully for baths and loves his hygiene treats Water connoisseur — he prefers drinking from his water fountain like the classy gentleman he isMeldon can take along his crate, water fountain, food, treats, and chew toy (though he’s not much for chewing). What he really wants to take, though, is his heart full of love for his favorite human — and find someone new to give it to.If you’re looking for a loyal, quirky, and affectionate companion who knows exactly who he is, Meldon is ready to report for duty.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are interested in meeting any of our babies, please complete an online application at https://kykittycats.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6024 If you don't see pictures on Petfinder, please go to our website to view at www.kykittycats.com and we always have a waiting list that hasn't been posted yet.  We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. Story
PIPPA UPDATE: Pippa loves toys and loves to play. Content to play by herself or with other small dogs. She is scared of large dogs. House broken and crate trained. She table surfs, will steal your schrunchie in a minute, so she is crated when we are out of the house. We have established a routine for being picked up that is working which causes less stress for her. She rides well in her car seat but has to be buckled in to prevent her from roaming the car. —————————————————————— Pippa came into rescue as a stray. She has been traumatized at some point and takes a bit to warm up but once she does, she is such a sweet cuddle bug. Her main issue is when you try to pick her up, she rolls on her back, screams and pees. She is going to need a very quiet home with a lot of patience to help her be her best self. If you have time and patience then she will come around and be the best pup ever. She is very treat motivated! Her adoption fee is $300.00 (plus 6% KY sales tax)

Story
Meet Peanut 🐶🥜❤️Peanut is a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into his tiny 8-pound body. He came to us as an owner release, and while change can be tough, this little guy has shown us just how sweet and loving he can be.Peanut adores people and loves being the center of attention. He’s affectionate, friendly, and enjoys spending time with the humans he trusts. However, he does not do well with kids and will need an adults-only home where he can feel safe and comfortable.Because of his history, Peanut can also be food aggressive, so he will do best as the only dog in the home. We don’t know how he does with cats or other dogs in general, and we’re also unsure about his house or crate training, so a patient adopter willing to give him guidance and structure will help him succeed. The good news? Peanut is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to begin his next chapter. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet companion who thrives on one-on-one attention, Peanut could be the perfect match. He has so much love to give—he just needs the right home to help him shine. 💛🐾Peanut's Adoption Fee is $115.50 plus taxDogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis for owner releases. Strays have a wait list.
