Joker joined Furry Kids' from a small rural shelter.  He had heartworms that needed to be treated.  He has been in a foster home the past 3 months getting healthy and is now heartworm free. He is now finally ready for a family of his own! Joker is very sweet!!! Very loyal to his human as are most Chihuahuas. He loves to give kisses and loves to be near you. Loves to chew on bones. Loves to sunbathe outside on nice days and wander around the yard. Great with cats and calm dogs. He gets overstimulated when dogs are too hyper around him. Will need a good diet including fish oil as he has had some anal glad issues in the past. He may require a trip to the vet to have his anal glands expressed every couple of months, but that's not a big deal, super simple process. Housetrained. Loves treats. Loves to go for walks. Must be on Heartworm prevention year-round for life so that he NEVER contracts them again. Children 10 and older please. Hendrix the Great! Hendrix is available for adoption NOW through Adopt Rescue Foster. Freshly neutered and UTD on vaccinations and chipped, he is ready to find a loving family to call his own. He is house trained, kennel trained and leashed trained. Likes all creatures big and small, dog or cat. He just wants to be friends! This little dude is 22lbs and is listed as a 3-4 year old Chi Basingi mix. He is more praise than treat motivated and his zoomies are the very best entertainment!! Hendrix being given away on FB for free, which can be a very scary deal with an unknown future. I reached out and asked if they'd consider surrendering to a licensed rescue. They said yes, PLEASE! Hendrix's mom and small humans found themselves homeless and he was not allowed to stay with them at the place they were staying. He went to a relatives house and 3 days into the stay, his mom found out the man in the home was kicking him and kicking his kennel when he was in it. She was beyond upset. She reached out to shelters which are all full and didn't know what else to do. She was desperate to find him a better situation, even if it meant giving him up permanently for free. Despite all he has been through, Hendrix has the sweetest personality. He takes a minute to warm up, more to men than women/kids (understandable given his abuser was a man). He doesn't give kisses often, but when he does it's to the smallest human in the home. He is obsessed with the baby human in our home and completely adores her .
