You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rick is a 1 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, he weighs about 12 pounds. Rick loves to play with his foster siblings, he walks well on a leash and is doing great with house training.  He is crate trained and he sleeps all night next to his foster mom's feet under the covers.   Since Rick is a stray we don't know his history.  He is food reactive so his foster family is working on that.  He would need to be fed separate from other animals and no bones until he can get past this stage of his life.   Rick has a good time chasing his foster mom's cats but he just wants to play with them and not hurt them.  As you can see one of the cats is bigger than him so he needs to behave.  Rick is a wonderful snuggler and would make someone's family a great companion Please fill out an application from our website if you would like to meet Rick. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Butter is a 6 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, she weighs 8 pounds.   Butter was released to the shelter by her owner with her 2 friends.  She was so scared that we scooped her up and brought her to the rescue.   Turns out she definitely needed the help.  Butter has very bad teeth and needs to be spayed but she has a 4 out of 6 heart murmur.  We have to have a serious discussion if it is safe for her to go under anesthesia to have both of these done.  Our veterinarian sent out a special blood test to get a better understanding of her condition.   In the meantime she would love to have a foster home so she can have a nice warm place to lay her head.  If you are interested in fostering or adopting Butter please fill out an application from our website.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2025, 12:58 pm

These five puppies were born to Tinsley by emergency c-section on December 13th! We had just gotten Tinsley on December 7th, as she was living outside, no shelter, little food and pregnant! She was living up in the mountains, so while it was cold, here in the Piedmont, it was even more frigid, up there. Tinsley is posted at the last photo, so you can see what mom looks like. We have no idea what dad is. Mom weighs about 25#. Meet Kiwi! The ALL-American cuddle bug! Kiwi and her siblings are almost ready for adoption! They will be 8 weeks on February 14th! They will have had their first (single) vet exam, first vaccine and fecal. They will be ready for their forever homes on February 14th! Meet our sweet Mama Tinsley! Tinsley came to us on December 7th, VERY pregnant, cold, scared and with no hope of ever having someone to love her, again. Tinsley had been living outside, no shelter, little food and had had litter after litter. Discarded now. One of our rescue partners sent her to us and we couldn't say "no". She needed us as much as we needed to help her, but the funny thing is, we fell so in love with her. She is the sweetest girl! On December 13th, she had to have an emergency c-section and delivered 5 healthy puppies and was spayed at the same time. She is a great mama, but she is done with having puppies and she is ready to move on to a new family! Tinsley is very attached to her foster mom. Her foster mom is the only thing that Tinsley has ever known as having a safe place. For Christmas, she traveled with her foster family to their Christmas festivities in another state. She is absolutely no trouble at all. She wants to only be close to you and be loved. Her foster takes her wherever she goes. The girl has been around the US! She has loved every moment of it! Tinsley is about 8-10 years old. She will be around 25#, once her milk dries up. She is up to date on her vaccines, heartworm negative and now on monthly prevention. She is spayed and chipped. She will pee on a pee pad inside but not if you are watching her. She will also go outside and potty. If you would like to give this sweetheart the forever home that she deserves, please go to our website and complete an adoption application. Her new family must be home a lot or be able to take her with them. She is great with other dogs, but they aren't a requirement. She would love a retired family who she can be with a lot. We only want the best for our sweet girl! She deserves the world! Tinsley's adoption fee is $250. This only partially covers what we have spent on her and her puppies to date. We have spent almost $8000 with her vet care since she came to us. Her emergency c-section was $3500. She is worth it!
