My owner had too many dogs, so my puppies and I found our way to Kind Keeper. I am a very shy but will warm up to you if shown patience and kindness. I would do best in a home with a fenced yard as I'm not good at walking on a leash. I get along well with other dogs. My spay surgery, at one of Kind Keeper's veterinary partners, is included in my adoption fee.

Scooter is our distinguished senior gentleman with a little extra “seasoning” in his personality. He may be in his golden years, but this sometimes grumpy old man still has a playful spark tucked inside that comes out when he’s feeling safe and loved.Scooter is looking for a very special home...one as unique as he is. He forms a strong bond with his person and likes to stick close by their side. Because of this, Scooter struggles with separation anxiety and will need an adopter who is home most of the time. If you work from home, are retired, or simply love the idea of a constant companion, Scooter just might be your perfect shadow.He does have arthritis that will need ongoing management to keep him comfortable, and he is mostly hairless (we’re unsure of the cause of his hair loss). His adopter should be prepared to continue his care and keep him cozy and feeling his best. Scooter would thrive in a calm, quiet home without small children or other animals. He needs a patient, understanding person who will respect his boundaries, embrace his quirky moments, and shower him with the love and cuddles he truly craves.Underneath that crusty exterior is a loyal heart just waiting for the right person to call his own. Scooter isn’t for everyone, but for the right, dedicated human, he will be the most devoted little companion you could ask for. Jean Claude joined our rescue this summer. He is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchip, and heartworm negative. Currently being fostered with a beagle companion, he would benefit from a home with a well mannered canine role model. He bonds quickly with his person, and can exhibit some typical chi behaviors including guarding or posturing. An ideal home would have expierence with the Chi breed, a loving dog friend to help him adjust, and a patient owner than can help him overcome some fear based reactions. After just a few days in a foster home he is already very loving and friendly. He is starting to engage with his foster brother and figuring out that he is safe and loved and never going back to the shelter. JC is being fostered in Wilmington, NC.
