Story
Helene is a little dog with a big heart who just needs time to let it shine. She’s very scared and nervous right now, but with patience and understanding, she will learn to trust and feel safe. Helene would do best in a quiet home without young kids, where she can settle in at her own pace. She was found as a stray with other dogs and would likely thrive with a calm, confident canine companion to show her the way. If you have a gentle heart and a soft spot for shy pups, Helene is waiting for you!

Story
Kitty is an 8 year old, 9 lb. Chihuahua. Kitty is a sweet but timid little lady who came to the rescue a bit under-socialized. She is learning lots of new and great things about being a beloved pet in her foster home and is loving all these cozy, fluffy blankets that seem to be all around! Kitty can be skittish and a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience she warms up and enjoys pets and cuddles. She is very calm and quiet and don't make much of a peep according to her foster mom. Kitty is potty-trained and crate trained and loves to snuggle up in her crate for an afternoon nap (with lots of blankets of course!). She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, but isn't as interested in playing with them. She likes to go outside and enjoy the sunshine and is learning how to walk on a leash (we bet she will love taking short neighborhood walks once she has mastered the leash walking)!  Because Kitty can be a little more submissive and shy, she would do best in an adult-only home or in a home where the kids are older and considerate of her space. This sweet girl hopes that her forever family will come for her soon so she can know what it feels like to be a beloved member of the family! Kitty will need a special adopter who can continue to care for her medically. She has a history of mammary gland cysts, which have been removed by the rescue vet and is being monitored for an enlarged heart and signs of intervertebral disease in multiple places. Kitty is resilient and is not showing signs of pain. She just needs to be given that second chance to live happily knowing she is loved and taken care of! Story
Sisko is a 1-year-old, 8lb tan Chihuahua mix. If you're looking for a playful, sweet, velcro dog, look no further than Sisko the Pup! Sisko loves to be around people and to give and get kisses. Since he's a bit on the submissive side, he would need to be with dogs that have a similar temperament. Sisko loves to run around and play, so he'd do best in a home with a fenced in yard so he can run off that energy. He does have some separation anxiety, so his ideal home would be one that has someone there most of the time. Sisko is housebroken (which is perfect because he is scared of the crate), leash trained and fully vetted. If you think you can give Sisko all the love he deserves, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. Story
Tito is a 1 year old, 5 lb. Chihuahua. Tiny Tito came to the rescue after living half his life on the streets with his brothers. He was shy at first but has blossomed into a very loving, affectionate little boy who just wants to be by his foster family. He loves attention and pets and would do best with someone or a family who will be home more often than not so he can feel safe and not alone. Tito is a little shy and skittish around other dogs and so far, has only been comfortable around his brothers and one other dog who is his same size in his foster home. He would love to be your "one and only" or in a home with another, small dog who he can meet first to see if it's a love match! Because of his past, he is a little weary of little kids who may not give him his space at first. He is learning a lot though, and we think it will be a very loving, playful pup when given time to come out of his shell! Tito is already crate-trained and learning how to walk on a leash and go potty outside. He is excited to complete his "rags to riches" story and can't wait for his forever family to come and whisk him away to his happily ever after perfect life! Will that be you?
