Story
He’s a 5 year old chihuahua mix with what we like to call a little bit of “grumpy old man” energy. He’ll let you know how he feels about strangers at first, but give him a minute, a little patience, and a couple pets… and suddenly he’s your best friend and wants all the affection. Casper was originally adopted from us, but after his owner unexpectedly passed away, he found his way back. It’s been a big change for him, but he’s settling in and showing us what an easy, low key companion he really is. He’s the kind of dog who is perfectly happy carrying around a stuffed toy, chewing on a nylabone, or finding a sunny spot to nap in. He loves his blankets, is crate trained, and as far as we know he’s house broken. Casper has done well around other dogs and cats, but he can be a little possessive of his toys, so that’s something to be mindful of in a multi-animal home. He’s had some dental work in the past and has had multiple teeth pulled, so he’ll need someone who’s mindful of that and keeps him on an appropriate diet moving forward. He’d do best in a quieter home where he can take his time getting to know new people and then settle into his favorite routine: naps, snacks, and snuggles.
