Bijou is a absolute delightful puppy! She is teeny, at 3.4# of puppy fun at 10 weeks old! She comes to work with her foster mom every day and she loves the kids! Her foster works with lots of little ones! Bijou is very well socialized, and does great in the car. She does great with dogs, cats and kids. So far she does not bark ever! She will howl like a husky if lonely (thanks Rookie- our rescued husky:). She is a very well rounded little pup that often has her tongue hanging out and is ready for action! Meet Emma ❤️! Emma is 23 pounds of “your lap looks like the perfect place for me,” and she has absolutely no concern about whether you were planning to share your chair! She's thought to be a chihuahua/terrier/jack russell mix and all we know is she's a mix of adorable, lovable and sweet! Emma found herself at a local shelter after circumstances changed and her owner could no longer keep her. She arrived alongside another dog from her home, and shelter life was incredibly difficult for both of them. Emma began shutting down and wasn’t eating well, so she was pulled into rescue and brought into a foster home! And what a difference a home made! Emma spent her time in foster care living inside as part of a pack of 22 dogs, and she absolutely thrived! She loves other dogs, fits beautifully into a pack, and also did great living alongside a cat. She’s house trained and adjusted wonderfully to everyday life inside a home and would do well with kids. Now Emma has made her way to The Asher House, and the affectionate, happy little dog who was struggling so much in the shelter is ready to find her family! Emma REALLY loves her people! Hi! I’m Bijou, a 7-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix with a beautiful brindle coat, a sturdy 19-pound frame, and a personality that’s equal parts independent, snuggly, and just a little bit bossy. I’m looking for a new home because my person has permanently moved into assisted living and can no longer care for me. I’ve been well loved, and now I’m hoping to find someone who wants a loyal little companion to share their days with. My favorite things are pretty simple: going for walks, snuggling on the couch, looking out the window, riding in the car, and hanging out with my people. I don’t need constant entertainment—I’d just really like someone who is home most of the time and wants a buddy nearby. I’m housetrained, crate trained, leash trained, and I know sit, off, out, and come. I even attended puppy school! I’ve lived with dogs, cats, and children, including young kids. I’m generally pretty aloof with other dogs, although I’ve been known to wrestle with my current doggy housemate. Cats may get a bark or growl from me, and while I can live with other animals, I’d probably be happiest as your one-and-only. More attention for Bijou! I take my neighborhood-watch duties seriously. If someone approaches the house, I’ll make sure you know about it. I’m protective of my space and can be reserved with people I don’t know, but with my people I’m gentle, playful, and wonderfully snuggly. Loud noises can make me nervous, so I appreciate a little reassurance when things get noisy. I’d love a fenced yard, regular walks, a comfy couch, and most importantly, someone who wants my company. Give me a little time to settle in, and I think we could make a pretty great team.
