Story
Meet Rufus Toofus – The Underbite King of Cuddles! 🐾 Say hello to Rufus Toofus, a 3-year-old Chihuahua–Greyhound mix with a one-of-a-kind smile and a heart of gold! His charming little underbite and stunning golden eyes make him impossible to resist — but it’s his goofy, loving personality that really steals the show. Rufus is the ultimate people pup — he adores everyone he meets and loves being part of the action. Whether he’s chasing toys (even tiny cat ones!) or snuggling up in bed soaking up all the pets, Rufus is happiest when he’s by your side. He’s the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room, just to make sure you never miss out on his company. He’s wonderfully adaptable — happy as a sidekick to a single person, a loving family companion, or even a buddy to other dogs. Rufus can also shine as your one and only furry best friend. If you’re looking for a silly, affectionate little guy who will fill your home with laughter, loyalty, and love, Rufus Toofus is ready to win your heart! 💛 Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/690023aab7505e539104a01f Questions? Email kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!   Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Story
Peanut may be tiny, but don’t let his size fool you—this little Chihuahua/wire-haired terrier mix has a BIG personality. At around two months old, Peanut is a playful, goofy, tail-wagging machine who is fully committed to living life as one big adventure. Peanut is the kind of puppy who turns everything into a game. Got a toy? It’s his favorite. Got another toy? Also his favorite. Got a sock? Well… that might be his most favorite. He loves to bounce around, play tug, and zoom in happy little circles like he just discovered joy for the first time (every single time). His playful energy is contagious, and it’s nearly impossible not to smile when he’s around. Watch his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/VaHXt10YCaA?si=iZMbNbyHGGT8bm_d He’s also wonderfully social and loves being part of the action. Whether you’re playing, moving around the house, or just existing nearby, Peanut wants to be involved. He’s curious, silly, and full of that classic puppy mischief that keeps life interesting. Because Peanut is still a baby, he’ll need a family ready to commit to all the important puppy basics—potty training, structure, patience, and lots of positive reinforcement. He’s not going to come pre-programmed, but that’s part of the magic. Watching him learn and grow will be one of the most rewarding experiences. Peanut is looking for a home that will embrace his playful spirit, guide him with love, and give him plenty of time and attention. In return, he’ll bring nonstop laughter, endless affection, and a lifetime of loyalty packed into one tiny, wiggly little pup. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69b486679f183a9ac005b9e2 Questions? Story
Jellybean is exactly what her name promises—a tiny, colorful burst of sweetness with just a little bit of bounce. This itty-bitty Chihuahua/wire-haired terrier mix is about two months old and already mastering the art of being both completely adorable and completely unstoppable. She’s the kind of puppy who wakes up ready to take on the world… or at least your living room. Jellybean loves to play—like, really loves to play. She’ll hop, bounce, wiggle, and zoom in the most delightful, goofy ways, as if her little legs can barely keep up with her excitement. Toys are her favorite thing (well… tied with people), and she’s always ready for a game, especially if it involves a squeaky toy or a playful chase. And when she gets really excited? She does this happy little bounce that makes it look like she’s made of springs. Look at this happy girl in her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/VaHXt10YCaA?si=iZMbNbyHGGT8bm_d Even though she’s full of energy, Jellybean is still just a baby. She’s learning everything for the very first time—what toys are for, where to go potty, how to settle down after playtime, and how to be the best little companion she can be. She will need a home that understands that puppies take patience, consistency, and lots of love. Training, routine, and gentle guidance will help her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. Jellybean is looking for someone who will laugh at her silliness, play with her often, and help guide her as she grows. In return, she promises endless entertainment, tiny puppy kisses, and a whole lot of joy packed into one very small, very wiggly body. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69b486516d53ed9a850507d0 Questions?
