Sweet Chloe is in need of a forever home after her human went to Heaven. She is a Chi mix, around 6 months old, only weighs 9#, and gets along very well with her 5 small foster siblings. She enjoys cuddling and is an expert at burrowing under your arm. Her ideal home would be with another dog to continue her training and for companionship but, she would do well as an only dog, too. Chloe is currently working on puppy pad training. Chloe walks well on a leash and is very calm, rarely barks and does well with the "sit" command. Chloe is quiet all night in the kitchen with her foster siblings. Her crate is open at night so that she may use the puppy pad but, she is crate trained when I leave the house and does well. Chloe is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. *She is in a foster home. Meet & Greets can be arranged for approved applicants. *Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!

Hi there, my name is Snaggle and I am a petite little lady with a big love for the good life. I am three years old, fourteen pounds of sweetness, and I fully believe that life is best enjoyed from a warm lap or a sunny spot on the floor. Story

Carter is a 1 year old, male, Chihuahua mix surrendered to the rescue due to his family moving and unable to take Carter with them. Poor Carter was quite frightened of this new environment and it took him some time to warm up to the volunteers. He really enjoys going on walks and once in awhile doing zoomies in the play yard.. This little guy needs a patient, quiet home with a soft gentle touch to give him direction, praise and love. Carter weighs 14 lbs and is now neutered and current on vaccines.
