I am three years old, fourteen pounds of sweetness, and I fully believe that life is best enjoyed from a warm lap or a sunny spot on the floor. Sunbathing is one of my favorite hobbies, right up there with relaxing and being admired for my adorable face. I can be a little unsure when I first meet new people, I like to take a moment to decide if you are my kind of human. But let me tell you a little secret, treats are the fastest way to my heart. Offer me a snack and suddenly we are best friends forever. Once I know you are nice, I am all in. I absolutely love being held and would happily spend all day in your arms if you let me. I am a calm, laid back girl who prefers cuddles over chaos and lounging over long adventures. I am not the type to rush through life, I prefer to enjoy it slowly, with plenty of naps and affection. Hola friend, my name is Jetta and I am a petite little Chihuahua mix with a shiny black coat, soulful eyes, and a heart that is just waiting to belong to someone special. I am three years old, 16 pounds, spayed, and I have excellent manners if I do say so myself. I came to Happy Bark as an owner surrender, and it was not because I was bad or difficult. My people loved me very much, they just got older and could not give me the care I deserve anymore. They made a very loving and brave decision so I could have a full happy life ahead, and I am ready for that next chapter. When we first meet I might be a little shy, I like to take a moment to read the room. Give me a couple of minutes and you will see my tail start to wag and my eyes soften. Once I know you are kind, I turn into a very loving little shadow who wants to be close, soak up affection, and feel safe with my person. I have never offered to bite, not even when I am nervous, I choose gentle every time. I get along well with other dogs and even cats, so I could fit nicely into a home with furry siblings. I would also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the cariño and giving it right back. I am the kind of girl who bonds deeply and loves with her whole heart once she trusts you. If you are looking for a sweet, sensitive companion who just needs a little patience at the start and will reward you with endless love, I might be your chica. Carter is a 1 year old, male, Chihuahua mix surrendered to the rescue due to his family moving and unable to take Carter with them. Poor Carter was quite frightened of this new environment and it took him some time to warm up to the volunteers. He really enjoys going on walks and once in awhile doing zoomies in the play yard.. This little guy needs a patient, quiet home with a soft gentle touch to give him direction, praise and love. Carter weighs 14 lbs and is now neutered and current on vaccines.
