IDGSR Welcomes KEVIN into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Well howdy, folks! Name’s Kevin, and I reckon I might just be the smallest German Shepherd this side of Nashville, Tennessee… trapped in a Chihuahua/Terrier body. Don’t let my size fool ya—what I lack in height, I make up for in heart, grit, and a whole lotta personality. Quick Facts: Age - 7-months old Kids - will do fine with kids Dogs - great with other dogs Cats - probably no cats 1. At 7 months old, I’m still a young buck, full of curiosity and charm. 2. I’ve got a funny little bob-tail that wiggles faster than a tumbleweed in a windstorm, and a coat that looks straight outta the German Shepherd handbook. I’m startin’ to think I might be an undercover deputy from the Shepherd ranks—just disguised in a compact package! 3. I get along mighty fine with other dogs, and I’d fit right in whether you’re livin’ in a ranch, apartment, condo, or townhome—I’m not picky about my corral. 4. I’m still workin’ on house and crate trainin’, but I’m a quick learner if you’ve got some patience and a few treats up your sleeve. 5. I’ll need a good ol’ dose of obedience trainin’, but partner, once I learn the ropes, I’ll be your most loyal sidekick on every adventure. 6. So what do you say, cowboy (or cowgirl)? Saddle up and adopt me —the tiny sheriff with the Shepherd soul! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! If you are not 100% ready to adopt, please wait** ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt? Story
Blue is a sweet, soulful 8-year-old Chihuahua mix who is searching for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy the simple joys of life. This gentle boy has low energy and a laid-back personality, making him an ideal companion for someone who appreciates quiet moments and cozy cuddles.Blue does have some impaired vision, but it doesn’t slow him down when it comes to love. He navigates familiar spaces well and thrives in a peaceful, predictable environment. A low-energy household would be perfect for him, and he would do wonderfully in an elderly or retiree home. He’s happiest curled up in your lap, soaking up affection, gentle pets, and all the love you’re willing to give. Blue can do well with older, calm dogs who respect his space and match his easygoing vibe.If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who just wants warmth, comfort, and a heart to call his own, Blue might be your perfect match.

Story
Millie is almost 1 year old, January 1 is her expected birthday. She is playful, sweet, but has to have a lot of attention. Does tend to nip/scratch when very excited. You will have to get her chip info changed. If I’m going out, she goes in her crate but she doesn’t like it 😂.

Story
Taco may be in retirement but is still seeking a lap to occupy!  His favorite pastimes include napping, absolutely rocking any outfit you put in him in, pets, cuddles, burrowing in blankets, following his human around and oh yeah, some more napping. Taco has done well with other dogs and cats and is even tolerant of children (who are gentle of course). He weighs 6lbs and to our best guess is about 10 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and monthly flea and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $200.  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. December 31, 2025, 1:33 am
