Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Debo loves to lounge around in his favorite bed, watching his siblings play and enjoying the occasional pet from his human. At about eleven years old, he still has lots of life left; consider adding this boy to your pack! *The adoption fee for this dog is $100  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. April 24, 2024, 9:14 am

Beau is a sweet, small Chihuahua mix who loves to sleep and snuggle. He is current on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is mostly housebroken. Beau likes children and other dogs, but has not been tested on cats. His goal in life is to snuggle and love on you all day long. Beau came in with his brother, Luke. They are so fantastic together that we would love to see them adopted together. This is not a requirement, but we sure would like to see it happen! For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. When his senior owner moved to an apartment for easier management of his life needs,  Tiny and his “brother” Little Bit tried to go with him but the landlord said no pets were permitted.  Their dad was heartbroken, and felt that rehoming through the shelter was his only option. The boys were well-loved and are beautifully housetrained, and are adapting well for two seniors whose lives have been turned around. They are enjoying their quiet foster home, and will visit a vet soon. Here is what we know about Little Bit, gleaned from his person and our observations:  He is ten years old, and he loves to have his butt scratched. He loves attention of any kind, and does not mind being picked up or held. He is overweight, and probably needs to lose half his bodyweight, but he really enjoys going outside, so maybe more exercise will help him. A fenced area would be lovely for him! He is not an actual blood brother to Little Bit, but they do like each other. I don’t think they are bonded, and I think either one would be happy if he was adopted to a family where he was the only dog and could get lots of attention. As far as we know, the boys were not exposed to young children, but in the brief time they were at the animal shelter, they seemed comfortable with other dogs. Little Bit walks well on a leash; he likes to burrow under a blanket when he sleeps, and he is quite comfortable sleeping on a soft cushion next to his human’s bed. His diet is gradually transitioning to more suitable food so he can shed some weight and feel even better. We already love Little Bit and his friend!    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 23, 2024, 8:23 am
