Bean has some preferences for his forever home. He wants to be the only dog. No men, cats, or people with hats! (He’s going to write a Dr. Seuss book for little neurotic dogs ). Kids are weird and must be barked at endlessly, so probably he doesn’t want to live with any of those, either. Bean’s foster mom reports that Bean would happily stay under the covers in bed for days at a time. Bean is 5-6 years old and about 6 pounds. He’s a very sweet boy (if you aren’t any of the things he hates that are clearly outlined above ) . He cameto K Kids with his family and all his mom/sisters have all gone to foster to adopt homes but he’s still here. We are now calling Allen Chaps because of the unique pattern on his backside . Chap was living with 5 dogs and 3 cats in a motel room. Here’s what you need to know: He’s about 10 pounds, under 2 years old, a big fan of helping me work (as you can see from the photos), good with other dogs, has lived with cats, and is just a friendly guy. He does pretty well with his housebreaking, but he does mark a little bit because he’s not neutered yet. Chap is a good resource guarder with his dog food. He needs to be fed in a crate or somewhere he can’t growl and snarl at anyone else trying to eat in peace. Speaking of food, Chaps is hilariously proper at taking food off of human utensils—-he eats very well off of a spoon and a fork. If you’ve been looking for a small dog to sit on the table and spoon feed, Chap says he’s your man   Chaps adoption fee is $400 and that includes all of his vetting. CHICO IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED!   Chico is easily the sweetest fun-loving dog ever. He is happy-go-lucky, he is extremely smart and is eager to please his human. He is about 8-10 years old and 13lbs. Chico loves to cuddle with his person. He knows sit, come, back, find “whatever you ask him”. Chico is house trained and crate trained. He recently had a dental. Chico is a good eater. He is polite and loves meeting new people. Chico was an only dog in his original setting, walked into his multi dog foster home and immediately became the cruise director. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes. His favorite foster sibling are the pretty larger females! Chico is crate trained and house trained. He sleeps with his foster mom or in his open crate – his choice. Chico loves lap time. The best home for Chico will have a secure fence. Kids over 10 and with excellent doggy manners would be okay. Another well temperamented dog would be fabulous. An excellent history of vet care for current or previous pets is required. Previous specific breed experience will be given preference. He is fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. Barnaby was found as a stray in the City of Broadway and brought to our care by the animal control officers. He is naughty! Not just in a cute, small dog misbehaving way but rather he has significant behavioral needs that requires him to be placed in a home with experienced owners who can continue to work with him and help him get settled in. He's been in a foster home the last couple of months and here's what we know about him so far, please read carefully as we'll be extra selective in where he's placed. He can live in a home with another dog only if the other dog is very tolerant of Barnaby's behavior. He is obnoxious towards the dog he currently lives with. He guards his toys, his crate and (of course) food from the other dog. We are not comfortable placing him in a home where he'll be around children or cats. Nor in a busy household with lots of people going in and out. He is incredibly smart and very food motivated. A quick learner. He needs a very experienced owner(s) who have the financial means and the time to work with an in home trainer to help Barnaby adjust to his new home. Yes he's cute and has a sweet personality but he does have significant behavioral concerns. He's not for everyone and we'll need to be very selective with where he is placed.

This sweet 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is looking for a patient and understanding home to help him blossom. KitKat has spent much of his life without socialization, so the world feels like a big, scary place to him right now. He’s still learning to trust people and new experiences, but every day, he makes tiny steps forward. KitKat is crate-trained and sees his crate as his safe space, often choosing to relax there with the door open. Potty training is a work in progress, and while he’s getting the hang of pee pads, leash walking is still very new to him—he’s more comfortable watching the world from a distance than exploring it just yet. One thing he does love? Other animals! KitKat finds comfort in the company of dogs and adores cats. His ideal home will have a friendly, confident dog to help him feel secure. He’s happiest cuddling up in a cozy dog bed with his Beagle foster sibling and is slowly warming up to gentle human interaction. KitKat is not aggressive at all, just very nervous and easily startled. He’s making progress with being handled and learning that people can be kind, but he still prefers quiet companionship over being picked up. This gentle little soul needs a calm, patient adopter willing to let him go at his own pace, celebrate his small victories, and help him discover the joys of being a beloved pet.
