Story
Coconut is a tiny chihuahua with a tender heart and a story we’re still gently uncovering. It’s clear she hasn’t always known kindness, and new people and environments can feel overwhelming to her. But here’s the beautiful part—Coconut is trying. With patience, consistency, and love, she’s made incredible progress. What once felt impossible is now happening: she allows gentle pets, and we can finally hold her. That’s huge for this little girl. Coconut will need a calm, quiet home with someone who understands that trust isn’t rushed—it’s earned. She’s not the kind of dog who will be instantly outgoing, but if you give her the time and space she needs, she will absolutely blossom. Watching her continue to come out of her shell will be one of the most rewarding journeys you’ll ever take. She does well with other small dogs and doesn’t mind cats, which can help her feel more secure. A peaceful environment and a patient heart will be key to helping Coconut feel safe and truly at home. Coconut will be spayed and fully vetted prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $175. If you have the love and patience to help this little soul continue her journey, apply online at fayettecountyanimalshelterwv.com 💛
