Meet Janice! Janice is an adorable little Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix who is almost 2 years old and weighs just 9 pounds. She may be tiny, but we have a feeling there’s quite a personality tucked inside that fluffy little package.Janice is fairly new to us, and right now we’re still getting to know her. We don’t yet have enough information to confidently say how she feels about cats, other dogs, children, or some of the other things future families naturally want to know. Rather than guess, we’d rather give Janice a little time to settle in and show us who she is.What we can tell you is that she is an absolutely darling little girl, and at not quite 2 years old, she has a whole lot of life ahead of her. As Janice becomes more comfortable and we learn more about her personality, preferences, and what kind of home will make her happiest, we’ll continue to update her information.Sometimes the first chapter of a shelter bio simply has to be: we’re still getting to know each other. Janice has only been here a short time, and she deserves the chance to tell us the rest in her own time.If this sweet little face has already caught your attention, come meet Janice. I’m Rusty, a 17‑pound little guy who’s having a tough time in the shelter. I’m a sweet dog once I feel safe, but this busy environment is overwhelming for me. I’ve been reacting negatively to being on leash, so I’ll need patience, structure, and slow, positive socialization to help me learn the world isn’t so scary. I recently got neutered, so I’m rocking a cone while I heal. I’d do best in a quiet home with adults or older kids who understand that I need gentle introductions and calm routines. Small children would be too much for me right now. If you’re looking for a dog who just needs time, kindness, and a chance to decompress, I’m ready to show you how sweet I really am once I’m out of the shelter.
