He can be timid at first, but every day he’s learning that people can be kind and love can be safe. Once he feels comfortable, Dan shows his sweet side—curling up on the couch, soaking up the sunshine, and happily sharing space with other dogs. Dan enjoys the simple joys in life: sunbathing like a pro, chasing squirrels and birds, and letting deer know (from a safe distance) that he’s on neighborhood watch. He’s a soft, sensitive boy who thrives in calm environments and would love a quiet person or couple who can give him patience, consistency, and all the affection he’s been waiting for. Dan doesn’t ask for much—just a peaceful home, gentle companionship, and someone who will love him for exactly who he is. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, sweetness, and a heart full of gratitude. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Doran — professional sunbather, part-time squirrel chaser, full-time good boy. Doran is a 5-year-old Chinese Crested/Terrier mix who was sadly left behind by his previous people… but don’t worry, he’s handled it like the brave little champ he is. He’s learned that humans can actually be pretty great, especially the kind who give him a little time and a lot of patience. Once you’re in his trust circle? You’re in for life. This funny, quirky guy loves hanging out with other dogs and can often be found running around playing tag with his foster buddies like it’s recess. When he’s not zooming, he’s perfecting his sun-lounging skills, popping in and out of the doggy door like he owns the place, or chasing squirrels who absolutely started it. Doran’s favorite things include: Toys (all of them) Treats (yes, please) Couch cuddles (non-negotiable) Sunshine naps Being your little shadow once he feels safe He’s equal parts playful and cuddly, silly and sweet, and ready for a home that will let him settle in at his own pace and show him he’s finally home for good. Story
Pancho Villa was found running the streets. The family that found him decided to keep him problem is Pancho Villa is an escape artist! He got out of his new yard on several occasions. His family tried to find all the spots he was escaping from but he kept getting out. The last time he got out he was picked up by animal control. His family was devastated but they decided it was best for Pancho to find a new place to live where he is in a secure yard. He had not been neutered yet and that may have contributed to his wanting to escape! Pancho Villa is neutered now, he has had all his vaccinations, microchipped and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. He is ready to find his new home! If you are interested in making Pancho Villa a part of your family please fill out our adoption application. We would love to set up a time for you to meet this wonderful little dog!

Story
They do not have to be adopted together. These babies were pulled from a kill facility who reached out to us. Hattie and Hailey are super sweet, very talkative and very snuggly. The girls love toys, other dogs, running around and fun. They are tiny right now, Mom was said to be a lab mix but we did not see her. They love attention and would be a great companion. They probably would not be a good match with young children. We are taking applications on them now but they cannot leave until they are spayed on March 5th. Email us if interested in filling out an application.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾💛 Meet Gordo — 8 Pounds of Love, Loyalty, and Lap-Warming Perfection 💛🐾 Gordo has been waiting… and waiting… and we honestly don’t understand how this little guy is still looking for his forever home. At just 3 years old and 8 pounds, Gordo is living proof that the very best things come in the tiniest, snuggliest packages. This sweet Chihuahua mix is equal parts lap warmer, cuddle champion, and loyal sidekick. He adores being close to his person and will happily follow you from room to room like a tiny, devoted shadow. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who truly wants to be with you — not just near you — Gordo is your guy. He does have a soft spot for the ladies (Gentlemen, don’t worry—he’ll accept you too, but he’s a mama’s boy at heart!) and would thrive in a calm, quiet home. He’d also be thrilled to have a small doggie friend to sunbathe with and share naps. Kids aren’t really his vibe, but cozy couches and peaceful routines? Absolutely. 💊 A little extra love note about Gordo: Gordo is considered special needs due to occasional seizures, which are well managed with daily medication (Levetiracetam and Phenobarbital - about $50 every two months). He takes his meds like a champ and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He’ll also need Midazolam on hand, just in case he does have a seizure — though thankfully, his meds are working very well and he rarely has one. Now for the fun stuff… 🐶 Gordo’s Favorite Things: • Being used as a living neck pillow • Sunbathing like a tiny beach bum • Napping with doggie friends • Shamelessly begging for watermelon 🍉 • Sitting in your lap… always • Staring down the vacuum like a brave little warrior He’s house trained, crate trained, and happily trots into his crate at mealtime like the good boy he is. Gordo is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly loving — the kind of dog who bonds deeply and gives his whole heart once he feels safe. This little guy has been through a lot in his short life, but he hasn’t let it dim his sweetness or his desire to love. He’s just waiting for someone to see how special he truly is and give him the calm, loving home he deserves. 💛 If you’re looking for a devoted companion, a constant cuddle buddy, and a tiny soul who will adore you endlessly — Gordo is ready to wiggle into your heart and home! Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give this sweet boy the forever home he’s been waiting for. 💖

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Lucy – Tiny Thief, Big Heart 🐾💛 2 years old • 12 pounds of pure personality This little rascal is Lucy — and she may be small, but she’s packed full of sweetness, spunk, and just a dash of mischievous charm. Lucy came from a hoarding situation, so she’s still learning all about the good life most dogs take for granted — things like kind words, soft beds, gentle pets, and treats that don’t have to be shared with 50 of your closest canine neighbors. She’s discovering that being a dog can actually be pretty wonderful. At first, Lucy can be a little shy. New people and new places take her a bit of time to warm up to. But once she feels safe? Out comes the happy, goofy, secretly hilarious little girl hiding inside. She’s house trained, crate trained, and not food aggressive. On walks she’s more “sniff investigator” than marathon athlete — she doesn’t walk great on a leash... yet, because she’s too busy trying to smell every single leaf, blade of grass, and mysterious sidewalk crumb. Priorities! Lucy enjoys being outside, soaking up the sun, and observing the world from her favorite perch. She’s slowly gaining confidence in the house and has recently started exploring more on her own — a HUGE milestone for a girl who once didn’t know what home life even meant. She isn’t overly social with bigger dogs and would likely be happiest as an only dog or with calm dogs her own size. Loud, boisterous canine roommates can feel a little overwhelming to her. Now for the BEST part about Lucy… Lucy is a THIEF. 😄 Her foster brother Buddy leaves toys scattered everywhere, and Lucy has developed a top-secret operation. When Buddy isn’t looking, she sneaks off her perch, carefully steals one of his toys, and proudly carries it back to her spot like she just pulled off the heist of the century. No remorse. Just adorable criminal activity. And as if that wasn’t cute enough, Lucy has one more irresistible trick up her tiny sleeve — she does the SWEETEST little paw wave when she’s happy or asking for attention. It’s her signature move, and it’s basically impossible to resist. What Lucy needs most is a patient, gentle person or family who will give her the time she needs to feel safe and comfortable — without rushing her. She’s already come so far, and with a little more love and understanding, she’s going to blossom even more. Lucy is a very happy girl who is slowly learning how to just “be a dog.” And watching her discover joy, trust, and confidence is one of the most rewarding things ever. If you’re looking for a small companion with a tender heart, a silly streak, and a future career in toy theft, Lucy might just be your perfect match. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let this tiny treasure warm up your world and put joy in your heart! 💛🐾
