Story
Thelonious Monk is a beautiful 3-year-old purebred Akita, born August 24, 2023, and approximately 125 lbs. Monk is intelligent, independent, loyal and full of personality. He loves his family, toys, blankets, lounging around the house, watching out the window and the occasional Akita zoomies.Monk has lived with children and enjoys them. He can bark or howl when meeting unfamiliar people until he becomes comfortable. He previously had a dog friend but has had limited recent socialization with unfamiliar dogs, and he has never lived with cats.Monk is a runner and digger and can be destructive with bedding and toys, so he needs secure containment and someone comfortable with a very large, strong dog. An Akita or large-breed-experienced home would be ideal. I am looking for a safe, permanent home with someone who understands and appreciates this wonderful breed. He is an amazing dog our schedules just don't feel fair to keep him anymore. He deserves a great home!

Story
Please read the info before applying. Shomer, a Pyrenees-Akita mix born July 1, 2023, weighs over 67 lbs. and is a gentle, friendly farm dog who hasn't been neutered yet—this procedure is still needed. He's good with cats and chickens, not traumatized, and doesn't bark constantly—only at treats. He loves walks and car rides and is food-motivated and responsive to treats, which helps him form bonds; he still needs retrieval training. As a guardian dog, he's trained to watch for predators like coyotes and eagles but doesn't attack livestock. Ideal for a home with acreage where he can patrol freely, but he needs daily attention and inclusion in activities. He handles work or school absences well, but his breed isn't ideal in an apartment setting; 8 hours without attention will not be ideal. Please research this breed before applying.
