Story
Zola is a 2.5-year-old Husky/Malamute and Lab mix with the biggest heart and an even bigger personality. She’s the daughter of our two family dogs, so we’ve known her since day one, and she is truly the "snuggle bug" of the bunch. If you’re looking for a dog who will talk to you, smile when she's happy, and shower you with affection, Zola is your girl. She has grown up in a busy house full of kids and absolutely loves them. She’s also a great playmate for other dogs, though she’s still trying (and failing) to convince our cat to be her best friend. Zola is a high-energy, high-emotion girl who gets so excited to see her people that she sometimes has "happy pee" moments, so she’d do best with someone who understands that sensitive, enthusiastic side of her. She is great in her kennel at night and is honestly just a sweet, vocal, loving companion who wants to be part of the action. She’ll make a wonderful addition to a family who has plenty of room for kisses and conversation.

Story
Schooner wandered onto the rescue property early this year. He got along fine with the ranch dogs and made himself at home. He was shy at first until he knew he was safe. Schooner is a lover. Just sweet as he can be. And he loves to run! And run! And run! He is absolutely gorgeous all stretched out in a full run around the property. Unfortunately he lost that privilege when he started killing the resident chickens! So no chickens or small to medium farm animals. It is simply husky nature to hunt so he's just doing what is natural. He does so so on a leash. Rides great in a car. Gives hugs. He is eager to please and would love a home and family of his own who will teach him all the good stuff about being a family. Apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note all dogs are located in San Antonio, TX. We advertise out of state due to the critical pet overpopulation problem here in the south. We use Your Texas Rescue Connection to transport the dogs to your area. They are all up to date and come with a health certificate. The fee is $180 adoption and $200 transportation = $380. Thank you for considering adopting a southern dog.

Story
I adopted him 1 year ago... I own 2 cats and another dog but I would recommend having him as an only pet. I will provide a harness, leash and kennel if you would like. I am not a good salesmen..I am listing some of his qualities I feel like a new owner should know. He is on the higher energy side. He is mostly treat motivated for training. He loves to play (Me, my cat and other dog). He likes to play on the rougher side. The doggy daycare people like him. He loves puzzle games. He is cuddly and confident. Walk him away from cars. He hates cars driving near him on walks and will try and bite the leash, he got me a couple times, no blood. He is food aggressive with other animals. The reason I am putting him up for adoption is: He bit our other dog in the ear and made her bleed. Our other dog is old(14) and nippy with him. Usually he just dodges her... We think him biting back was motivated around food as it was in the kitchen after I cooked some pork.
