Story
From Everest’s Foster Mom: Everest entered the shelter as an agency assist, meaning the owner was being removed from the home and the dog had nowhere to go. Everest is a 34#, 5 1/2 year old, male neutered mix of Good Boy. I took Everest home to foster and right away it was apparent that he had a swallowing problem He was bringing up big gobs of saliva multiple times daily, all while eating and feeling fine. I was able to mostly solve it with two cheap twice daily pills (~$150 / year total). Still does an occasional urp so not for the house-proud. I’m sending a year’s supply of his meds with him tho it’s unknown if he’ll need them forever. Everest is a loving, loyal, always-by-your-side buddy, yet is content to snooze away the day loose in the house while you’re gone. Will lie quietly in a crate if needed. Perfect house manners, good in the car and on a leash, can take or leave other dogs - he really wants to be your one and only - jealous but grudgingly gets along with others and will play with them and not fight over food, treats, toys. I suspect he’d be a great RV dog because he just lays in the passenger seat sleeping when he goes with me to do errands, even if I’m gone inside a business 1/2 hour or so. Has never shown any interest in cats when we’re out and about. Obedient guy who looks to you for direction and approval and goes along with your wishes even when he doesn’t really want to.
