Meet Elle 💗 Elle is a sweet senior chihuahua with the softest soul. At 12 years old, she came to Living Free from the county shelter frightened and shut down, unsure of what the future might hold. Since then, she’s shown us just how much love she still has to give. Elle is quiet, mellow, and incredibly kind. She doesn’t ask for much — just a safe place, a warm bed, and someone who will adore her the way she deserves. Her past hasn’t been easy, but she remains gentle and patient, waiting calmly for a home to finally call her own. If you’re looking for a peaceful companion who will be grateful for every bit of affection, Elle is ready to spend her golden years being loved. She’s not looking for excitement — just a heart that has room for her.

Story
Spike is a loyal dog. He was left in our care by my sister who couldn't have pets where she lives. Its sad to say she has abandoned him with us. My husband and I have 5 other dogs and Spike doesn't get along with one who is a male. He constantly barks when he gets too close and will follow him out of a room. With all the constant barking, we risk being evicted. He loves to go on walks and likes to lay next to someone. He really is a good dog. I hope we can find him a family that will love him immensely.

After her passing, Pepper came to live with our family, but we’ve learned that our busy household is not the right fit for him. Pepper is gentle, affectionate, and bonds closely with his person. He does best when someone is home often and able to take him outside rather than relying on a dog door. A calm home with a grass yard would likely be a good fit. Pepper would be a great match for a single adult or low-activity household seeking a close companion in a calm, stable environment. Pepper has a known heart murmur that has been noted during routine vet exams. No treatment required.
