Dumped. Starving. Left to Die. Near Belcabito, out by the Rattlesnake area, someone dumped this tiny pug and left him to starve to death. He never stood a chance. A small, flat-faced dog with no ability to fend for himself… abandoned in the cold, with no food, no water, no shelter. Who could ever do such a thing to such a sweet soul? It is terrifying to even imagine what he endured. By sheer luck — and we truly mean luck — he was found. Skin and bones.A swollen, painful eye.Sneezing constantly.Weak. Dehydrated.A mere skeleton of what should be a happy, snorting, wiggly little pug. And yet… he is gentle. He is kind. He leans into touch.Despite everything, he still trusts. He is with us now at Denkai Animal Sanctuary. Tomorrow he will receive ongoing care at our Affordable Care Veterinary Clinic — diagnostics, medications, eye treatment, bloodwork, supportive care… whatever it takes to give him a fighting chance. Meet Olive!   Tiny. Tender. Totally devoted.   Pictured here with her loving foster, Lauri!   Olive is just under one year old and weighs about 14 lbs of pure sweetness. This lovely little Chihuahua girl absolutely adores her people — once you’re hers, you’re her whole world. She also enjoys her doggy friends and would do great with a kind canine companion.   She can be a little unsure with new things at first, but this brave girl pushes through and blossoms with a little reassurance.
