Story
Sasha is a four-year-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund) weighing 17 lbs, recently surrendered by her elderly owner who could no longer care for her. She is used to being snuggled with, petted, kissed and loved so was understandably terrified when she found herself in a cold, noisy kennel. Luckily, she found a short-term foster home where she feels safe and loved again. Sasha will seek out that small space next to you on the couch or will perch on the back of the sofa looking out the window. She will make you laugh every day with her snoring, burrowing under the covers, or walking on her hind legs waiting for dinner! She thrives on being with her people, so we are looking for a family or person who can be with her most of the time. She walks well on a leash and rides beautifully in the car, so taking her with you on errands or trips would be a real treat for her. She’s good with other dogs but can be initially frightened by them. If you are looking for a new constant companion to cherish and love… Sasha could be the perfect dog for you! Interested? Max is a neutered, mixed breed lab. Around 50 pounds. Shots are current. I believe he is closer to 7 years old. He was living in a home in Orlando when his owner became terminal and was brought to a care facility where he ultimately passed away. We are unsure how long Max was ‘alone’ being tended by neighbors/friends or any other history. We have a busy home with a 4 and 8 year old who are higher energy than Max appreciates. Over the year his anxieties have not eased with our boys rough housing and running around. We want to rehome him with a family more suited for him. Older children, a couple or a single person looking for a great companion. He does well with our other dog. He has learned to ‘dog’ a bit from her. And has not yet warmed up to the cat,

Brooklyn is a one year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix).  30 pounds- and yes, she needs to be on a diet!  Good with other dogs and all the people she meets, including children.  Adopter will be required to have her spayed and brought up to date on her vaccines and testing. Brooklyn is in our direct-from owner program.  Chesed Rescue will background and vet check all applicants and adoption will be directly from the owner.  There will be no adoption fee, though donations to the rescue are appreciated. Say hello to Teddy, a chi mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for life! This little guy is the definition of a cuddle bug, if physical affection were an Olympic sport, Teddy would take home the gold. Teddy is fully housebroken and potty trained- he'll even let you know when it's time to head outside like the polite gentleman he is. He's a pro at "sit, lay down, and wait" and on a good day, you might even get a roll over or a high five (especially if treats are involved- this boy will do anything for snacks). Teddy is crate trained as well! When he's not charming you with his tricks, Teddy's favorite hobbies include sunbathing, napping and hanging out at the dog park- his happy place! He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, but prefers to keep his distance from cats (no feline roommates, please). In great health, Teddy is the perfect combo of sweet, smart loyal and low maintenance. Teddy will be right there, your loyal little shadow with a wagging tail. If your looking for a small dog with a huge personality, who will make everyday feel warmer and brighter- Teddy's your guy.
