Hi, I'm Dezzy!
Just under 2 years old | Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix | 22 lbs
I'm an active, playful little girl who loves giving kisses, snuggling, and soaking up affection from my favorite people.
I came to the shelter with my sister, June, after our previous owner was having trouble keeping up with our energy and our talent for escaping.
Now I'm searching for someone who appreciates a little dog with a big personality and is ready to help me become the best version of myself!
A little more about me:
Other Dogs: I've lived with my sister, June, but my previous owner wasn't sure how I'd do with other dogs. Proper introductions will be important!
Cats: No kitties for me, please! I'm not a fan of feline friends.
Children: I've previously lived with children ages 3 and 8 and did well with them!
Strangers: New people can sometimes make me a little unsure at first, but I'm overall friendly!
Personality: I'm active, playful, affectionate, independent, and vocal! I love kisses and snuggles just as much as I love a little adventure.
House Manners: I keep a clean kennel here at the shelter! However, I'm also a talented escape artist, so a secure environment and careful supervision are a must!
Don't let my small size fool you! I may be little, but I still need plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, boundaries, and consistency.
I'm looking for someone who understands that bringing home a dog means making a commitment to helping them learn, adjust, and thrive. I promise to bring plenty of personality, entertainment, and affection along the way!
Although June and I came here together, we don't have to be adopted together. We're each hoping to find a home where we can get the love and individual attention we need.

Spayed, microchipped, Heartworm & Lyme Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $120 normally, but through 10/31/26 is $0!!

Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Please allow 24-36 hours for a response. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet & greet! Any other dogs in the home must come along and some dogs may require all family members to come as well! If it's a match, you can your new dog home the same day.
We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!
