Story
Hi, My name is Mater and I'm part of the Cars litter. I'm a cute little guy, who is shy at first, but soon sweet and playful. My light colored eyes make me stand out. I spent my first few weeks trying to survive in the woods, so we were really scared at first and it took a while to catch us. I'm resilient though and have quickly adapted to living in a home, receiving affection and having regular meals that I don't have to search for. I live for wrestling and playing with my siblings and the other dogs in my foster home. I would make a great addition to any family!
My story... I was living outside with my siblings in Bogalusa at the edge of the woods, and we were playing in the road. We were only a few weeks old, so it was very dangerous for us, so the rescue came and brought us to safety. We were all very thankful to be in foster homes until we were old enough to be adopted.

If you want to meet a pup in person, Once Upon a Tail Rescue does adoption events at PetSmart in Covington, LA on most Saturdays with many of our adoptable dogs there.
Don't forget to complete your application ahead of time, so you don't miss out on the pup you've connected with. If pre-approved, you have first priority & can usually take home your new best friend the same day!
*Please note that there is no obligation to adopt by completing an application.*
**All dogs are required to have complete vet services, including shots, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip, which are included in the Adoption Fee. Some dogs may still require completion of these services due to current age, size, breed and/or health. All vet services must be done at the vet clinic used by Once Upon a Tail Rescue in Mandeville, LA.
