Story
Meet Lilly — A Tiny Heart Looking for Her Safe Person Born: January 8, 2023 Breed: Chiweenie Sex: Female Personality: Incredibly sweet • Sensitive • Shy • Devoted Lilly may be little, but she has an enormous heart. She is quite possibly **one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet**. Once Lilly trusts you, she loves deeply and wants nothing more than to be close to her person. But there is something important her future family needs to understand: **Lilly is scared. Really scared.** New people, unfamiliar places, sudden movement, noise, and changes in her surroundings can overwhelm her. Her first instinct is not aggression—it is to **run, hide, and make herself disappear until she feels safe**. That means Lilly does not need someone who expects her to become their best friend in five minutes. She needs someone patient enough to let **her decide when five minutes becomes five days—or five weeks.** And when she finally comes to you on her own? That trust will mean everything. Lilly would do best in a **quiet, predictable home** with adults or calm older children who understand that frightened dogs cannot be rushed. A securely fenced yard and careful handling around doors would be especially important because a frightened little dog can bolt before anyone realizes what happened. She doesn't need somebody to “fix” her.

Story
Meet Arkie — Tiny Body, BIG Personality Born: December 18, 2025 Breed: Yorkie / Chiweenie Mix Sex: Male Status: Available for Adoption through GreenePets Foster Network Arkie came to GreenePets Foster Network on February 23, 2026 when his owner was unable to keep him because of landlord restrictions. Since then, this little guy has grown up around the kennels and turned into one seriously fun dog. Arkie is a high-energy little scamp who loves being outside, exploring, running and being part of whatever is happening. One of his standout qualities is his excellent recall—when Arkie is called, he pays attention and comes running. For a young dog with this much enthusiasm for life, that's a pretty terrific foundation. He is bright, energetic, people-oriented and ready for someone who will actually enjoy having a lively little dog around. Arkie is not completely house trained yet, so his adopter needs to be willing to finish the job. The good news? He loves going outdoors and is very willing to learn. With a consistent schedule, supervision and positive reinforcement, he has all the ingredients to get there. This isn't a little dog looking to spend his entire life decorating a sofa. Arkie wants adventures, training, playtime, outdoor time and his own person. If you're looking for a small dog with plenty of personality, brains, energy and potential, Arkie may be your boy. Adopt Arkie through GreenePets Foster Network GreenePets.org Small dog. Big adventures. One forever home needed.
