As is common with breeder dogs, she is not well socialized. However, this little girl is very friendly which is rare for pups with a history as a breeder dog. Sydney will need someone with lots of patience, time, and dedication to helping her become the sweet and loving little dog that she can be. Her new home must have a male dog to be her buddy and help her learn the ropes. Sydney does not care for female dogs. Our must haves for sweet Sydney: A fenced yard A small, male companion pup An adopter who will have the patience and time to help her become someone’s loving companion rather than just being used for breeding No apartments, condos, or high-rises ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

Would that be you? He is a shy boy but with love and patience we know he can be the most loving little boy you have ever had but you need to have patience for him to come out of his shell and be a pet not a breeder dog. You can see the longing in his eyes when you look at him that he wants to trust but he is just not sure, give him that reassurance. He gets along with other small dogs, we do not know about big dogs so we are going to say “no” since he has never been around them. As he settles into his foster home, think about adopting him and giving him your love. We will update his bio as we learn more about him. In the mean time our must haves are: • A fenced in yard • Another small, adult, well socialized dog for him to learn from • Someone that can be home more than not • No apartment, high rises, or condos If you are wanting to adopt him then go to our website www.allamericandachshundrescue.org and fill out our online adoption application. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime.
