Mitral valve disease occurs when the valve undergoes a degenerative change, thickens and becomes floppier. The cause is unknown but a genetic component is suspected. In stage B2 a murmur is heard and there is evidence of heart enlargement, but no signs of heart failure. Many dogs do not show any outward clinical signs (e.g., coughing, lethargy, inappetence) despite progressing to this stage, so it is important to have regular echocardiograms performed to catch it early. Pam is on 3 medications to manage her condition, the total cost is about $85 per month.   Pam is ready to be your side kick!   Foster Home Feedback  10/10/25 Foster Feedback: Pam is a sweet senior lady looking for her forever home. She is a happy old lady that is just looking for a soft bed. Pam sleeps in her crate at night and keeps it clean and dry. She is fine with the 2 large dogs in our home. She does not play with them, but she is also not worried about them. Pam is not much of a barker, but when she is excited she will follow you around doing a sweet little whine. Pam loves to be outside in the sun and running around the yard. Pam is potty trained but she will have accidents in the house if not let outside often enough. She will go and stand by the door to let you know that she needs to go outside. Pam is not much of a snuggler, and prefers to be curled up in a nice cozy dog bed.  This sweet little old lady is looking for a retirement home to live out her golden years! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org December 5, 2025, 10:10 pm

Care with a primary veterinarian should be established right away to manage all medical conditions and continue to get refills of medications. The adopter is responsible for the cost of all medications and testing. She is on 3 medications to manage this, the cost is about $86.00 per month. The veterinarian recommends a recheck echocardiogram every 9-12 months to monitor her condition. She would be due around November 2026.   Patty Cake is ready to play with you!   Foster Home Feedback  11/18/25 Foster Feedback: Who needs an adorable chihuahua for the holidays?  This middle aged, five-pound lady is just about as close to perfection as a chi can be. Patty Cake has two requirements:  1. A pet parent who wants a lap dog. 2.  A cozy kennel with a plush dog bed and two fleece blankets inside and a cover over the top to turn it into a cave! Patty Cake loves wearing cozy sweaters and is fully potty trained (or maybe I’m the one trained—I always know when to get her outside!). She sleeps quietly in her kennel all night until I get up in the morning. I never hear a peep from her. She’s a pretty quiet girl overall—Patty Cake doesn’t bark at other dogs or even when the delivery person rings the doorbell. Instead, she “talks” in her own adorable way, chirping and squeaking like Gizmo from Gremlins. She’s both dog- and cat-friendly. Patty Cake will need patience as she settles in. When I first brought her home, her anxiety was intense. For three days, she stayed plastered to the back of her kennel and wouldn’t eat. Sudden sounds or movements terrified her. Giving her time to adjust is the key. By day three, she was curled up in my lap. She still startles easily but has done well staying with another foster while we were out of town. She rides well in the car and loves going on “sniff walks” when the weather is nice. Patty Cake is an awesome little pup, and whoever adopts her will be rewarded with a lifetime of love and devotion!  To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org December 5, 2025, 10:10 pm
