Story
MEET CHEWY! Chewy is a neutered male chow chow who is estimated to be about 2yrs old. We seem to think much younger as he has very white teeth and he is very, very puppy like. Chewy was rescued from a shelter in Lexington, SC. He was found lounging on a neighbor's farm and unfortunately, he wasn't claimed after a 2 week hold period. We think he was on his own a while as his coat was very dirty when we sprung him from jail. Chewy does really well with the other chow chows in his foster home. When he is given a correction from them, he obeys it and is very submissive. Chewy loves to play with his stuffies, loves to run in the yard, and loves to play with his foster doggy siblings. Unfortunately, Chewy is very interested in the kitties in the house so we do not recommend a home with cats. We are requiring a fenced in yard for Chewy since he isn't too fond of using the bathroom on a leash. Chewy is up to date with all his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and house trained. He is currently being fostered in SC. If you are interested in this handsome boy please go to our website and complete our adoption application. It can be found here www.fabsrescue.com/applications

Story
Hello, my name is Suki. I am a pedigree, full chow with AKC certification. I was born in PA, and grew up from 8 weeks old in Fairfield, CT, which has been great because I really love playing in the snow. Some important details about me: I am spayed and chipped. I have no bite history. I’ve grown up in a home with a cat. The youngest people in our household were high-school aged when I came home, therefore I have not had exposure to extremely young children. I attended “puppy class” from 11 weeks so I am good with, like to run and play with other dogs when I am off leash. I love my toys, chasing/fetching soft balls and toys, and running around the backyard playing. Tummy scratches; A gentle voice and a gentle touch; Being brushed. I can be left home without worry. Commands I know and follow include, sit; stop/sit/wait; release work is "ok;" paws down (I do not ever jump up on people); down-dog when my family is eating; up up; Ah-ah (means no). Games for treats.

Meet Mario!!! Mario is brand new to rescue so we are just getting to know him but what we know so far is he is 13 weeks or so he appears to be a Chow Chow mix… He is currently about 15-20lbs super fluffy and super adorable… He is a playful little guy he loves other dogs but he will need a super tolerant friend as he likes to play hard… Mario is current on age appropriate vaccines, neutered and will be microchipped prior to leaving us… He has a lot of learning to do so make sure you are ready to commit to puppyhood… Applications can be filled out at wwk9rescue.com

Story
Do you see my tongue?? I mean, it looks almost ELECTRIC blue!! That is how you know I am a real chow boy, well, that and my chow 'tude!! I know that so so many people love love my breed, and the rescue people are excited to find my forever family!! They will have to be very chow knowledgeable because not only am I a chow, I am a pup who was found scared and starving in the cold and rain. And I am slow to warm to new people. So, I have learned to trust people since the rescue people take such great care of me, and I definitely need to meet my new family before we go on our merry way :) I have a gorgeous black coat, a gorgeous black tongue and am ready for adoption!! I can't wait to meet you!! ADOPT.... DON'T SHOP!!!! SO MANY LIVES' DEPEND ON YOU!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX only)

Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE.
