Story
SIMBA IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED!    Simba is shy at first, but warms up.  That is classic chow chow behavior. His lovely reddish coat is more labrador like.  Known for their loyal nature, chows may not be the life of the party, but they love movie night with their family! He is friendly to other low key dogs. When he met a younger small dog, his body language relaxed completely and his tail went to wagging.   He is house trained, crate trained, walks well on lead, and loves a car ride. He is treat motivated and a quick learner. He is wary of strangers (to him) that approach the fenced yard, which is pretty standard for the chow breed. They are known to be protective of their family.  Simba's best home will have a secure fence and medium activity level, where he can take walks with his family or hang out on the couch. A previous history of excellent vet care for current or previous pets is required. We have not kid tested Simba, so we would not place in a home where there is a lot of activity without additional assessment.  If you love the chow breed without the chow fluff, Simba will be a great companion. He is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to CT. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Simba up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com   You can apply to adopt Simba here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Story
Meet Mystique! This gorgeous girl is a 3–5-year-old Chow Chow, weighing in at 43 pounds. Mystique had a pittie brother she loved to play with, but sadly, both were abandoned in an apartment. We don’t know how long they were left alone, but thankfully someone discovered them while clearing out the unit. Her brother has since been adopted — now it’s Mystique’s turn to find her forever home. Mystique has clearly been through a lot. She landed on the euthanasia list with just days to spare, but the shelter staff rallied for her. She was a favorite there, and their support bought her precious time. As with many Chows, Mystique was hesitant about affection at first, but it only took a few hours for her to start warming up. On the ride home, she was anxious — stress-panting and refusing to lie down — but once she arrived at her foster’s home, she gave a sweet, gentle lick… a true Purple Kiss of Approval! (If you know Chows, you know how special that is.) Now that she’s settling in, Mystique loves zooming around the yard before lounging on the deck, gazing out from the same spot her foster sister Autumn loves. She’s happiest with room to roam, so a home with a fenced yard or an active adopter who enjoys hiking would be ideal. Like many Chows, she’s not food motivated, but she’s catching on with leash training and respects the boundaries of a gated room. Mystique gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, and we’d love to find her a home with a furry sibling to play with. Once comfortable, she blossoms into a goofy, lovable girl full of personality. Mystique is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Story
MEET VIOLET! Violet is a Smooth Coat Chow Chow mix who is estimated to be between 4-5 years old and weighs only 45 pounds. Violet and her lab friend were dumped together at a MS shelter. It took a week for the shelter to catch the dogs. She had split the large pad on one of her back feet. Her friend was adopted right away but not Violet and after 3 year she is still waiting for her forever home. Violet current foster decided to pull her but unfortunately this November will be 3 years she has been in foster care. Her foster reached out to us to help get her a great forever home. No dog should ever have to wait 3 plus years to find their home but unfortunately in today's world this is happening more, more often. She wants to have a home so badly. She is by herself in a 4x8 indoor kennel run just pining her life away. Violet loves, loves, loves toys and to play. She would love a home with a single person or a couple who loves the outdoors so she can run, run, run and make up for lost time. She would love to go on daily hikes or just have the ball thrown to her a few times in her new forever backyard. Violet gets along great with male dogs but is dominate with other female dogs. It is obvious Violet was beaten and abused so she will need an adopter who will be patient with her. Vilot is terrified of her foster mom's cane and when she was doing fence repair was scared to death of the 2x4 boards when her foster mom picked them up or large sticks when she is doing yard work. Violet trusts her foster mom immensely and when called she will come bouncing back to her. She has the goofiest personality and makes her foster mom laugh multiple times a day. Violet is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on all shots and ready to go. She is housebroken, crate trained. She deserves a home so bad, yet nobody wants Violet. Are you Violet's angel? Story
MEET ELLA! Our guess is Ella is a beautiful Labrador mix. She is estimated to be around three years old. Her journey has been nothing short of incredible—rescued in her final hours from a rural South Carolina shelter, she gave birth to her seven precious puppies the very same night she arrived. Despite her rough start, Ella has blossomed into a loving and affectionate girl. She quickly became a foster favorite, charming everyone with her sweet, eager-to-please personality. She does well with people and other dogs when introduced properly. With her laid-back nature, Ella would thrive in a loving home and would also fit in well with a more active family or even a relaxed family. Ella is fully house-trained and has adapted wonderfully to home life. She’s up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and heartworm negative. Now that she’s almost done with her motherly duties, it’s her turn to find the loving forever home she truly deserves. If you’re interested in giving Ella the happy ending she’s been waiting for, please fill out our adoption application at www.fabsrescue.com/applications

Story
Chubby toes. Chubby face. Chubby smile. Chubby nose. Everything chubby! And not that kind of chubby from eating too much. Walrus Teddy is just a total chubby bubby heartthrob, and an absolute sweet heart. His looks are unmatched and undeniable and he has a personality to match! You can easily compare him to a real life-sized teddy bear and he's super soft like one too! He’s so happy anywhere he goes, loves everyone he meets, acts like he has known you his whole life even after only knowing him for 5 seconds. This amazing guy has so much love to give it’s incredible and he’ll be sure to make you smile while he’s loving you. Watch his video and fall in love with his real life teddy bear: Walrus Teddy is believed to be a chow mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 47 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. It's pretty safe to say that this teddy bear has some Chow Chow or maybe even Akita sprinkled in his DNA just based off looks. Regardless of what his genetic make up is...he is perfection. So if you like teddy bears and dogs, well Walrus is your guy. Walrus is a total hambone when it comes to affection and meeting new people. He loves everyone he meets and that friendliness even extends towards children. He has spent time with kids as young as 4 years old and he did great! Like was completely comfortable about young children and it was seamless for him, almost like he already knows how to be a family dog with kids. He was very respectful, did not jump, nor attempt to steal any of the snacks. Even when Miller the little girl he was around, came in with her Mac n cheese, he would stand on the tippy top of his chubby toes and would do so in the cutest most polite way. At the end of the day, Walrus Teddy is all about love, tail wags, and just being included. Walrus is very dog friendly and has done great with all the dogs we have introduced him too. He's the type that's just happy to be there and included. He has a gentle play style that is more bouncy, romping along side his doggy friends, mixed in with the occasional wrestling match. He is respectful around dogs that don't want to play and he is completely happy and content chilling outside and enjoying the fresh air together or relaxing inside on their dog beds. He knows when to take play breaks and is content either way. Making him a great dog to have if you don't have other animals. Walrus is so dog friendly that he attends a playgroup camp with up to 12 dogs playing together. Walrus is very smart and as you can probably already suspect, treat motivated. He already knows how to sit, shake, and walks well on a leash! Making him the perfect companion to take with you to that nature trail you've been wanting to explore. He is also crate trained and potty trained. Walrus would thrive in a home with a back yard where she can practice her mini zooms, sunbathe during those beautiful summer days, and explore all the smells. He also has the potential of thriving in an apartment/condo setting as well with the proper exercise and socialization. He doesn’t need much but a long walk to the park or even. We can see him being your lazy Sunday snuggly chubby bubby and also your Saturday morning adventure gal. He has all of the makings of being able to do both. Walrus is the best of both worlds in our eyes. We are willing to test Walrus Teddy with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
