Story
TYRON is a 5 year old Chow Chow / German Shepherd who came to us when his owner’s living arrangements changed. He flunked the intake exam at several other shelters so here he is and we are still trying to figure him out. Tyron is a big boy! He doesn’t like a lot of physical touch but he LOVES his walks! Tyron will allow us to briefly brush his top line and pull out a few puffs but he is generally grumbly with handling and we fully sedated him at the vet for his spring shave. Tyron appears to want to play with other dogs and his previous owner took him to the dog park (which we don’t recommend but it does show that he may be fine living with another pup). Tyron needs an experienced dog savvy family who can work around his quirks to make him be all the dog he can be. We are looking for an adult-only home within reasonable driving distance so that we can facilitate several meet and greets and slowly integrate Tyron into your home. Tyron has been vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and tick borne diseases, is microchipped and neutered. Please fill out an application at www.CompAnimals.org if you are interested in providing a home for Tyron. Adoption $200. March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm

Story
Kristoff is being fostered in Ocala FL. Kristoff is a happy fellow, who spends most of his time off on his own in a comfortable spot. He doesn’t really play - his idea of playing is finding a toy or bone laying around and taking it back to his dog bed and stashing it. He enjoys getting scratches and pets, and will ask for them occasionally, but he isn’t an overly affectionate fellow. As a former street dog, he can startle easily and be defensive, but with vocal cues he understands what to expect. He loves having other fur friends nearby (as long as they respect his space), but that has to be managed as he is a “snap first, ask questions later” kind of guy. He loves to get close to his fur friends, he just doesn’t like when they get close to him instead. ⁃ His loves: food, treats, sweet talk, routines, verbal cues ⁃ His dislikes: car rides, being confined, touching his feet, fur friends coming near him when he is sleeping or eating. Did we mention car rides and being confined?!? Kristoff shows some signs of his almost 13 years with the greying on his face, but he hops around and enthusiastically wags his tail like a puppy! In fact if you ask him “is your floof flag flying?” He will immediately oblige by frantically waving it in the most adorable way. Kris thrives on routine, he’s a great eater and a gentle treat taker. He enjoys small doses of affection and then happily goes off to lay down in his favorite spot. While Kris enjoys having fur friends nearby(as long as they respect his space), he is very independent, and doesn’t play with others - he mostly (happily) keeps to himself. He does best when not confined and when you use the words he knows to let him know what to expect. So if you are looking for an independent fur friend who happily accepts small doses of affection but won’t be hogging space on your couch, take another look at Kristoff. He will fill your heart with joy without demanding a lot of your attention.

He does not really tug or pull, he takes his time and likes to sniff everything. He is a little bit aloof, he seemed very content to just enjoy sitting outside smelling the fresh air. He was very chill! He was fine when I first approached him from the side to pet, and he let me pet him for a bit. I started near his ear and worked down his back. He did not seem to enjoy pets as much as other dogs so I respected when he got up. But then toward the end of our time in the yard he did give me a warning snap, when I approached from the front to pet the side of his head by his ear, and I backed off completely. There was no growling or aggressive noises, he just clacked his jaws together to snap. He was fine walking back to his kennel, too. Per staff 6/7, Behavioral Eval: Kennel Presentation: Laying in the back side of his kennel when I approached. I called his name and he slowly got up then came to the front. Leash Skills: Slightly dodged the leash. Once leashed he came right out and walked on a loose leash. Sociability: He can be flinchy with movements. Go slow and use meatballs or pepperoni. I was able to gently pet his chest and down his side. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met zippy. Tolerant of her puppy energy. Return to Kennel: Went right back into the kennel and I removed leash with hand. Color Level: Exp Gold ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Meet Grace—affectionately known as Gracie. Gracie is a mostly independent girl who does take time to trust new people, but once you’re “in”, you’ll know it. She enjoys affection, but it is always on her terms, and she has just the right amount of spunky sass—earning her the nickname “huffy puffy” when she’s feeling extra expressive. She absolutely adores other dogs and thrives in their company. While she gets along well with all pups, she tends to form the closest bonds with females. A friendly, confident canine companion would be an ideal match to help her continue building trust and self-assurance. Naturally submissive, Gracie takes comfort in following a trusted lead—whether human or canine—and blossoms in environments that offer gentle structure and positive reinforcement. She LOVES to be outside and is happiest when she is able to be outside - enjoying a mix of sunbathing, running and playing. Gracie will likely always be a skeptical girl when it comes to trusting new people, so she’s looking for a lifestyle that is more laid back and won’t force her to be friends with every visitor that comes over. She warms up slowly and does best when given space, time, and a calm approach. Once she feels safe, she looks to her humans and furry friends for cues and guidance. Because she’s a follower by nature, she needs a patient, confident adopter who can provide consistent leadership in a soothing, structured environment. Gracie doesn’t enjoy being crated and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. While she is crate trained and manages when necessary, she’s happiest when included in the rhythm of everyday life. She currently lives peacefully with two respectful teenagers who understand her, but would be best suited to a quieter household without small children, as too much commotion overwhelms her and causes her sassiness to shine.  Out and about, Gracie is a dream on leash—calm, curious, and non-reactive to people or other dogs. She has a mild interest in squirrels and bunnies, but her prey drive is low. Occassionally she will pull if she is really excited - part of her “im happy we’re doing this, let’s go”. But, she is also easy to redirect. She’d love a fenced yard where she can run and explore, but it’s not essential. Gracie’s true joys include car rides (especially when she can stand tall in the middle seat with the sunroof open), cozy blankets, soft squeaky toys, and, of course, a good chew toy. She’s a little nosy, too—always keeping an eye on the neighborhood like your own furry watch committee. Gracie is tolerant for baths, fine with being picked up, and easy to groom at home.  She has  not visited a professional groomer.  Gracie is house trained with a schedule she can anticipate  and knows her basic commands - sitting beautifully when asked. This special little girl has such a big heart underneath her spunky sass (which is sort of like her emotional suit of armor). Her progress so far has been remarkable, and in the right home—with time, patience, and loving guidance—she’s going to continue to truly shine. Her smile lights up a room, and she beams with pride when she’s happy.  Gracie is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and able to head to her furever home. We prefer she be adopted into a home with another dog. Gracie is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch. www.mostlymuttz.org https://facebook.com/mostlymuttz PA Kennel License: 10872 PO Box 406 Gilbertsville, PA 19525 #mostlymuttzrescue #adopt #adoptme #sassyspunky #somuchtolove #adoptable ##2225922##

Story
Loki is a loving, affectionate young dog who enjoys cuddling, relaxing at home, going for walks, and being close to his people. He is house-trained, playful, expressive, and very food motivated, responding well to treats and positive reinforcement.Loki does best with structure, consistency, and clear boundaries. He can become overexcited during play or high stimulation and would benefit from an experienced adopter who understands energetic dogs and can continue reinforcing training and routines. He bonds closely with his humans and enjoys companionship. We are heartbroken to make this decision, but due to housing limitations and our current schedules, we do not feel we are the best long-term fit for Loki’s needs. Our goal is to find him a stable, loving home where he can continue to thrive.
