Pepper is on the lookout for her happilyeverafter home! At just about a year old, this adorable fluffball is truly one of a kind. Once she gets to know you, she’s sweet as can be—though she can be a bit shy with new people and new situations. She gets along with other dogs but has a touch of “barrier sass” (a fancy way of saying she may bark or growl when there’s a fence, crate, or gate between her and someone unfamiliar). But don’t let that fool you—Pepper is a gem! She loves to play, adores her toys, and is always up for a little cuddle time. She’d be perfectly happy as an only dog, but she also enjoys having a canine buddy… preferably one who doesn’t mind her enthusiastic, roughandtumble play style. Pepper is crate trained, house trained, and walks nicely on a leash in familiar places. She’s fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and uptodate on heartworm and flea prevention. • Chow experience is a plus• Fenced yard preferred• No small children Ready to fall in love? Meet Haley — the beautiful cloud who’s ready to melt your heart! Haley is about 1–2 years old and takes her time making friends, preferring slow smiles, gentle pets, and whispered encouragements (doesn't every girl?). At first she might peek from behind a couch or offer a sweet, tentative sniff, but with patience she blossoms into a loyal, loving companion who will show you neverending love. She gets SO excited to see her people when they arrive home, wake up in the morning or just walk in from another room! Haley is incredibly well behaved. She's house trained, loves her crate and doesn't chew or get into things she shouldn't. She’s medium energy with the occasional playful zoomies when she’s feeling cheeky. Haley is best with calm dog friends who give her space and won’t overwhelm her with rambunctious play; pushy pups need not apply, so she thrives best with chill doggie friends.Her fluffy, show-stopping coat is basically a hug you can wear, but it does need regular brushing and the occasional pamper session to stay tangle-free and cloud-soft. A steady routine helps Haley feel safe and confident as she learns to trust new people and places. It doesn't take long and is well worth it!If your home is calm, your heart is patient, and you have extra treats for slow introductions, Haley will blossom into the sweetest, softest friend you could ask for. Harper is HES's current longest canine resident. She's been in HES care for a year and a half, with very little serious adoption interest 😔 This sweet senior girl is a 9-year-old Chow Chow/Red Heeler mix, and is described by her foster mom as a snuggly, affectionate, and active dog that forms deep bonds with the people she trusts. Harper is very shy when she meets new people. In the few adoption appointments she's had, she hid behind her foster mom the whole time, and the folks were not interested in owning a timid dog. But give Harper a few days to decompress, and she becomes a totally different girl! Harper's favorite things include stuffed toys, exploring the outdoors, and being near her favorite people. She's very food motivated, housetrained, and loves to go on walks and hikes. Though she's a senior, she doesn't act like one! She would LOVE an active family to take her on adventures and include her in their daily lives. Harper deserves so much more than a life without a forever family, especially as she enters her golden years. She would do best in a home with teenage children and older, and she's ok around other dogs, but would also be content as the only dog in the household. She's not been around cats, to our knowledge.
