Story
Juniper, one of the three little girls in our fruit-inspired litter that recently found their way into ARPO's care, is a hilariously vocal little firecracker that spends a majority of her days bringing laughter and smiles to her foster mom. This little one's litter was surrendered to a shelter up north, and ARPO decided to drive up there to get the remaining group and pull them out of the shelter environment so that they would have the opportunity to experience fancy living in a house full of furry friends. If I had to choose a word to describe Juniper, it would be "vivacious". This pup has been strutting her stuff and making sure that her foster mom knows who is in charge ever since day one. You can always count on Juniper to get her sisters riled up and initiate some impressive wrestling and play time games. Whether she is singing the song of her people or running around trying to find the easiest path to a food bowl, she never fails to do so with pizazz. However, don't let her fool you! She DOES have a calmer side, and she will immediately settle and turn into the sweetest cuddle bug as soon as anyone picks her up. She is always the first of the group to nuzzle up in the crook of your neck and take a nap. Currently living in a foster home with a wide variety of animals, she has proven to do wonderful with cats and dogs of various breeds, ages, and sizes. Juniper is fully vetted. With that said: she has been spayed, microchipped, fecal tested, dewormed/put-on preventions (covering both heartworm and fleas/ticks/worms), and vaccinated according to the most current puppy vaccine scheduling. In addition to her vetting, Juniper has been started on some basic puppy training, including kennel and potty training. If you are looking for a pup that will always keep you on your toes, Juniper is your girl! If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website at arporescue.org to learn more about our adoption process and complete our adoption application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.

Story
Peaches, one of the three little girls in our fruit-inspired litter that recently found their way into ARPO's care, is the true definition of a velcro pup that would prefer nothing other than to spend every waking moment with her human. This little one's litter was surrendered to a shelter up north, and ARPO decided to drive up there to get the remaining group and pull them out of the shelter environment so that they would have the opportunity to experience fancy living in a house full of furry friends. If I had to choose a word to describe Peaches, it would be "darling". This sweet little pup will follow you to the ends of the earth, and she will do so with a smile on her face. Since day one, she has been following her foster mom around no matter what is on the agenda. It is no secret that this little red bundle of fluff would love nothing more than to climb into your pocket (if she could fit) and tag along to any and all activities that you have planned for the day. Currently residing in a foster home with a wide variety of animals, she is proven to do very well with both dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and sizes. However, people are by far her favorite. Peaches is fully vetted. With that said: she has been spayed, microchipped, fecal tested, dewormed/put-on preventions (covering both heartworm and fleas/ticks/worms), and vaccinated according to the most current puppy vaccine scheduling. In addition to her vetting, Peaches has been started on some basic puppy training, including kennel and potty training. If you are looking for a pup that will always keep you company, Peaches is your girl! Story
Meet sweet little Mable. Mable is said to be a blend between beagle and Chow maybe a shepherd of a sort too. Mable is just under 2 years of age, 35 pounds dog, cat, and people-friendly. She can be somewhat timid meeting new people but she adjusts well and easily overcomes her shyness Mable was adopted out as a puppy from a southern Indiana shelter at 3/4 months old and lived until last December outdoors at the end of a chain of isolation. Surrendered to the same shelter where she was adopted from a year later. A plea for rescue was placed as they feared the isolated life at the end of a chain may have caused behavior deterioration. Mable has been spayed, vetted, tested for heartworm, lyme, and treated for parasites. As well as received 2 separate surgeries on both eyes 5 months apart due to severe cherry eyes and entropion eyelids both top and bottom. Mable is 35 ish pounds just under 2 years of age and such a beautiful sweet active playful pushy good-way personality. His eagerness to please happy go lucky still very much a puppy spirit is delightful. She enjoys toys and has never had any, she loves walks, enjoys car rides, and meeting new dogs and people too. Upon her arrival, we notice she was timid when meeting anyone new but easily overcame her shyness effortlessly. Little girl Mable is very social when it comes to other animals. She is happy-go-lucky playful welcoming and joyful with dogs, cats, and all critters we have exposed her to. Mable training is excellent. She has worked so hard and it shows. She walks perfectly on a leash, her recall is good but needs a little more work, and has her basic obedience on point. No jumping up or mouthing people either. She has worked hard and has come a long way. Especially for living such an isolated neglected lifestyle for most of her life. Mable is very food of all types, toys, and praise motivated. She just loves interacting with people and playing. She will make a great apartment dog too if her energy level is matched. Mable is the perfect dog. She's become the perfect dog. A home with another playful dog, daily simple walks, and access to a fence in the yard would be great. Mable is still very puppy and has a lot of exploring and catching up to do still. She is determined to make up for lost time. Mable is house and crate trained and her new people must be dedicated to continuing so, current to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto & corona, 1 or 3-year rabies,  dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped including free registration for life, spay/neutered, heartworm & lyme diseases tested negative upon adoption,  and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. We do NOT ship and meet and greet are required before adoption unless you are a previous adopter. Previous adopters of AHS have the first choice and are not expected to pay another adoption fee again.  Donation of their choice is welcomed. Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a must. Adoption process information can be found on our website www.animalhousesanctuary.org Adoption Fee of $325 covers all of the above and everyday needs/care.  Updated 7/1/2023
