Story
Keanu will be 3 y/o on June 8th. He is a wonderful loving dog full of energy. He was rehomed to me a few years ago. Before being rehomed to me he lived with his mom (pit bull) and dad (chow chow). He loves soft cuddle blanket and soft toys he can hug and nibble on. He also loves rope toys he can chew on. He’s not a fan of toys that squeak or make noise. He loves attention and affection. He does well with routines. He is a great companion always by your side. He is generally a quiet dog hardly ever barks but will bark a few times at the door when he feels concerned/protective. He will twirl around in circles when he happy and excited. He knows few commands (sit, stay, lay down, up, turn around, come and paw). I would like him to have a loving home with plenty of space to play outside preferably a home with a yard.

Meet Muffy! A golden-coated, gentle six-and-a-half-year-old Chow Chow currently in Sykesville, MD, who is looking for a new loving home after her devoted pet parent passed away. With a quiet charm and an old soul, Muffy is the kind of companion who prefers to observe the world from a cozy corner or the fresh air of a securely fenced yard before she fully opens her heart. Once she does, you’ll find a deeply loyal friend who offers high-fives, twirls with grace, and quietly becomes your biggest fan. Muffy is a medium-sized beauty, weighing in at 50 pounds, and is the very definition of "selectively social." She’s a fan of peaceful walks, forest hikes, and engaging trick sessions. Her cue repertoire is impressive, including “spin,” “wave,” and even “heel.” While she can be shy with new faces, Muffy has the heart of a loyal guardian and just needs time, patience, and a calm environment to truly blossom. This lovely girl thrives in a quiet, cat-free home with one or two experienced adults who understand her need for routine, space, and gentle encouragement. She’s not a fan of fast-moving chaos or surprise greetings from strangers, so children and busy households aren’t the right fit. Though selective with other dogs, she has formed bonds with a few, so a laid-back canine sibling might be on her list, provided proper introductions are handled slowly and respectfully. Muffy is house-trained, spayed, vaccinated, and beautifully behaved indoors. She's also quite independent and doesn’t mind being left alone for short periods. She loves her daily Greenie and enjoys a good brushing to maintain her plush coat. She does have one cautionary tale in her history (a single bite incident involving an unleashed dog who ran up to her) but in her daily life, Muffy is calm, observant, and deeply sweet with the people she trusts. She needs structure, not chaos; softness, not force; and a caregiver who sees the beauty in moving at her pace. ***SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION***Meet Baby!This gentle senior pup has a calm, comforting presence. Baby is partially blind due to cataracts. He steers through the world using his sense of smell, hearing and what partial sight he has left. While Baby enjoys his relaxing time, he is always ready to get up for a walk and sometimes even a play session! He`s looking for a quiet home with minimal stairs so he can easily get around and feel safe, settled, and at ease in his senior years. Baby has previously lived with another dog and may be able to go to a home with other respectful, calm animals. Meet Mystique! This gorgeous girl is a 3–5-year-old Chow Chow, weighing in at 43 pounds. Mystique had a pittie brother she loved to play with, but sadly, both were abandoned in an apartment. We don’t know how long they were left alone, but thankfully someone discovered them while clearing out the unit. Her brother has since been adopted — now it’s Mystique’s turn to find her forever home. Mystique has clearly been through a lot. She landed on the euthanasia list with just days to spare, but the shelter staff rallied for her. She was a favorite there, and their support bought her precious time. As with many Chows, Mystique was hesitant about affection at first, but it only took a few hours for her to start warming up. On the ride home, she was anxious — stress-panting and refusing to lie down — but once she arrived at her foster’s home, she gave a sweet, gentle lick… a true Purple Kiss of Approval! (If you know Chows, you know how special that is.) Now that she’s settling in, Mystique loves zooming around the yard before lounging on the deck, gazing out from the same spot her foster sister Autumn loves. She’s happiest with room to roam, so a home with a fenced yard or an active adopter who enjoys hiking would be ideal. Like many Chows, she’s not food motivated, but she’s catching on with leash training and respects the boundaries of a gated room. Mystique gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, and we’d love to find her a home with a furry sibling to play with.
