🐾 Your Shy-but-Lovable Goofball Awaits! 🐾 📍 Lexington, SC Name: Kentucky 🎂 Age: 2 years (DOB: 1/14/23) 🐕 Breed: Lab / Chow / Mix — DNA tested! ⚖️ Weight: 75 lbs 🩺 Neutered & Vaccinated: Yes — UTD on rabies, DHPP, heartworm & flea prevention 💊 Joint Health: Receives joint supplements as a precaution; his brother showed early signs of hip dysplasia, but he himself has no symptoms. ✅ Gets Along With: • Dogs: Shows occasional “alpha” behaviors (barking, humping) around new dogs at home but never truly reactive. Fun fact: he was once beat up by a dog 1/3 his size and never retaliated. Doesn’t show these behaviors at the dog park — likely just territorial instincts with newcomers in his home. • Kids • Cats: Can test if requested ⚠️ Notes / Behavior: Gentle, loving, shy at first — warms up with time and trust. 🏡 Why He’s Looking: The last pup from a litter rescued at just 1 day old, still hoping for his forever family. 💔 🚪 House/Crate Trained: House trained ✔️ Best in a crate, safe outdoor access, or doggy door setup (constant indoor/outdoor access). Doesn’t do well left loose indoors alone. 💛 Personality: Shy at first, then a total lovebug: goofy, snuggly, and obsessed with ear scratches. 🥰 Couch-loving, tail-wagging companion ready to melt your heart. 📩 How to Adopt: Message or comment — include his name so we know which rescue you mean! 📋 Adoption application & contract required to ensure he goes to a safe, loving home. Let’s help this sweet, overlooked pup finally find his perfect family. 🐶💖

Story
Meet Armin! At 70 pounds, I`m a handsome Chow/Akita mix with an equally big personality! I may look like a tough guy, but I`m still figuring out this whole `meeting new people` thing. Once I get to know you, my fun-loving side really shines. My favorite hobbies include playing with my toys and, to my surprise, discovering that water is AWESOME...especially if there`s a kiddie pool involved. Splash time is the best time!I`m a smart boy, too. I already know `sit` and `down,` and I`m always ready to learn more with a little patience and some tasty treats.A few things to know about me:I haven`t been cat tested yet.Because of my size and enthusiasm, I`d likely do best in a home with older children.I`m still a bit unsure about other dogs, so slow introductions and thoughtful management would be important. If you`re looking for a loyal, playful companion with a big heart, a goofy streak, and a newfound love of pool parties, I just might be your perfect match. Come meet me...you bring the treats, and I`ll bring the personality! My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If my bio shows “Spay/Neutered” with a checkmark, I have already been altered; if you do not see this listed, my surgery is still scheduled and a refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required, which will be returned within 10 business days after my procedure is completed. If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.

Story
We took Jessie in about a month ago after he was found wandering around alone on the streets. We know he had a home at some point because he is neutered, house-trained, and knows most basic commands (sit, leave it, lay down, come, etc). He is such a good dog and we have formed such a strong bond in such a short period, but he just cannot seem to get along with my senior cat and I just can’t risk anything bad happening to her. He does bark around certain dogs and is a pretty independent pup, but he tends to be fine with all humans. My neighborhood has a ton of stray cats running around so even on walks he’s looking for cats to chase. I just know he would thrive in a home with a fenced in area to run around. He does seem to struggle with allergies and has sensitive skin so the vet has him on 16mg Apoquel every 24 hours. It doesn’t seem like something that will go away so it is absolutely vital that he has a good quality diet and his allergy meds.LOVES belly rubs, naps, & enrichment puzzles
