Story
Meet MARS! 🐾 Look at those breathtaking gold eyes! MARS is a 2–3-year-old former reservation dog who has had a rough start, but he is slowly learning that people and the world are safe and good. Currently decompressing at Emerald Street Kennels, Boise since late August, this quiet, gentle boy is looking for a patient, low-key home where he can blossom at his own pace. MARS is shy, gentle, sensitive, and sweet. He enjoys gentle interactions! He’s been opening up in off-leash play, especially when approached by playful puppies or calm adult dogs. MARS isn't comfortable going out for walks on a leash yet, so a secure, peaceful yard for decompression is ideal. At this time, an ideal home for MARS would be a quiet, low-traffic household with a patient human. A calm resident dog companion would be a wonderful confidence booster for him! Boarding is no place for a sensitive pup to spend his days. MARS deserves a quiet spot on a soft dog bed, surrounded by love and patience. Could you be the one to show him how sweet life can be? Story
🐾 Meet Bandit! 🐾 Bandit is a handsome, medium-sized pup (about 30 pounds) who came to rescue after living on a reservation in Utah. He’s around 1.5 years old and a true “Heinz 57” mix — whatever he is, he’s absolutely adorable! 💜 When Bandit first arrived in his foster home in Idaho, the world of indoor living was completely new to him. Things like furniture, dog beds, toys, and even human affection were unfamiliar. Thanks to a year of patient care and gentle guidance, Bandit has made incredible progress and continues to grow more confident every day. Today, Bandit enjoys playing with his canine friends and has learned how fun a backyard adventure can be! He’s house-trained, loves cozy dog beds and furniture, and is discovering that humans can be kind and trustworthy. He happily takes treats from his foster mom’s hand and has even developed a love for ce from the ice maker — one of his favorite little treats! 🧊 Bandit is still working on some things and will thrive with a patient, understanding adopter who can continue building his confidence. He’s learning about leashes and will need a home with a secure 6-foot privacy-fenced yard where he can safely practice and explore. Because he gains confidence from other dogs, Bandit will do best in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion who can help show him the ropes. An adopter with experience helping shy or undersocialized dogs adjust would be ideal. Bandit has already come so far, and with the right home, he will continue to blossom into a wonderful companion. If you have a calm, loving home and the patience to help a special dog keep growing, Bandit could be your perfect match. 📍 Currently being fostered in Nampa, Idaho
