Do you love senior dogs? Do you have a BIG heart for the dogs who are the hardest for us rescuers to adopt out? Petey is your boy! At 14 + years old, Petey has a heart of gold. He's quiet and never barks, except at dinner time. LOL He loves food and treats. He is housetrained, goes out, does his business quickly, and then comes right back in. He's very gentle and sweet with other dogs and people. He recently had a full dental and senior bloodwork. He's in good health. Simba is a small adult dog with a sweet and loyal personality once he feels comfortable. He loves being around his person and enjoys a calm, structured environment. Simba is crate trained and does well with routine. He can be anxious in new situations and around unfamiliar people, which may cause him to bark or become defensive. He will likely bark quite a bit during the first few days as he adjusts to a new environment. Because of this, Simba would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands how to give him time and space to adjust. He would do best in a home without small children. Simba would do best in a house rather than an apartment, as he can be vocal at times. A home without carpet is preferred. Simba has so much love to give and forms a strong bond with his owner. With patience, consistency, and the right environment, he can be a very loyal and rewarding companion. We are looking for a home that can provide him with stability.
