Cilla is a gentle, shy sweetheart who is just beginning to discover how good life can be. When she first came to us, she had clearly been through a rough start — her fur was severely matted and overgrown, and it was obvious she hadn’t received the care she deserved. Since spending time in a foster home, though, Cilla has truly started to blossom. Beneath her timid exterior is a sweet, engaging girl who wants to connect once she feels safe and comfortable. The shelter environment is still a little overwhelming for her, so Cilla’s ideal home will be a quiet, patient one with people who understand that trust takes time. With kindness and consistency, she continues to come out of her shell more every day. Cilla gets along well with other dogs and may enjoy having a calm canine companion to help show her the ropes. We are unsure how she feels about cats at this time. She is still learning the basics of home life and will need help with leash walking and potty training, but she’s making progress and will thrive with gentle guidance. Because of her coat, regular grooming will be important to keep Cilla comfortable, healthy, and looking her best. In return, you’ll gain a loyal little companion who will reward your patience with so much love. Cilla may need a little extra time, but she is absolutely worth it. Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat or dog. We are open for walk in visitors 10am-5pm 7 days a week. NO Appointments needed.

This handsome 28lb boy wants nothing more than to share sunshine and warmth with you, whether it’s leaning against your legs, resting his head in your lap, or snuggled up on the couch together. Although blind and hard of hearing, he knows that love doesn’t need to be seen or heard – it should be felt. In fact, he has such a big, loving heart that he would say mahalo if you can help him understand that goodbyes don’t need to be forever. He might even like having another doggie friend at home to help him feel less lonely when you’re gone! With 9 years of experience as a loving companion, Maui can’t wait to show you that he’s sweeter than the sweetest papaya. If you’re ready to say aloha to your new best friend, then get that passport ready, strap in, and come meet Maui!

Story
Meet Alvin, a very sweet 6-year-old mini poodle mix who came to us from the AZ Humane Society. He was known to have a heart murmur and needed to be neutered. He has been seen by our vet, including a cardiac ultrasound which shows he has some valve issues that can be kept under control with the use of medication, and he has been neutered.. This little guy wants all of your attention. In return, he will give you all of his. While tolerant of other dogs, he would be very happy to be the one and only. He walks fairly well on a leash and listens well, coming quickly when called. His favorite place is snuggled next to you. He has obviously had some training and will dance for his food, which is his prime motivator. Like all Lucky Dog Rescue pups, Alvin is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He will need regular grooming and lots of attention. In return, he will give you his total devotion., If you would like to meet Alvin, please fill out the application under his bio at luckydogrescue.org. His adoption fee is $400.
