Story
Hi! I'm Nelly and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle mixAge: 1 yearGender: FemaleWeight: 12 lbsCountry of origin: Middle East, now in Coquitlam, Canada.Highlights: Friendly, happy I’m a pup with a big heart and an even bigger love for adventure. I recently arrived from the Middle East and I’m now staying at a lovely foster home in Coquitlam while I wait to find my forever family. Not too long ago, I was wandering the streets all by myself in a busy city far away. Life was confusing back then, but kind people helped me get to safety, and now I’m learning what it feels like to be cared for and loved. I’m a young dog with lots of puppy energy, so I’d be happiest with an active family who enjoys adventures, long walks, and hikes. Exploring the outdoors is one of my favorite things, and I would love a human who wants a loyal sidekick for all of life’s journeys. At my foster home, there’s a cat living here too—and guess what? I don’t bother the cat at all. I’m more interested in spending time with my people. I’m very affectionate and tend to get attached to my humans quickly. Being close to you makes me feel safe and happy. I’m about 50% potty trained right now. My foster parents work full-time, so we haven’t had a lot of time to practice yet. When they’re at work, I try my best to use the pee pad, but I might still have the occasional accident. The good news is I’m a very smart dog, and with patience, routine, and a little training, I promise I’ll learn fast. I’ll be honest about one thing: I don’t love being left alone all day. I manage, but I really prefer having my people around. I may bark a little when I get excited because I just get so happy—but I’m not an excessive barker. More than anything, I’m looking for a family who will give me time, guidance, and lots of love. In return, I’ll give you loyalty, affection, and a lifetime of adventures together. Maybe that family is you. Energy Level: High puppy energy I get along with: Dogs:YesCats: YesKids: Unsure My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2665535##
