For the first 14 years of his life, Ziggy was the devoted companion of a loving couple who adored him. Sadly, after his dad passed away, his mom had to move into assisted living and could longer care for their beloved dog. We welcomed this sweet 20 lb. boy as a Frosted Face on July 29th and look forward to finding him a loving home for his golden years. Ziggy went on a Frosted Field Trip, so we could learn more about him in a home setting while he enjoyed lots of love and attention. His foster mom reported: "Ziggy is an absolute sweetheart. He loves to get pets and can't help wagging his little nub tail. He was always friendly with everyone. His coat is probably one of the softest I have ever touched - he's a walking teddy bear! Ziggy is an excellent walker. He walked perfectly next to us and never pulled on the leash. We would walk him for about a mile without any problems, and it was at a leisurely pace. Ziggy got along great with our dog. He did one corrective growl when our dog approached him while he was eating a treat. Our dog was within less than a foot of Ziggy eating. He did the quick correction and allowed our dog to stay at that foot length without any additional corrections. He had no issues with toys and let us and our dog grab them. Ziggy knows the commands "sit" and "lay down" when paired with hand signals and a treat. He loves food and eats quickly, so we fed him using a slow feeder bowl. Ziggy seemed to really enjoy early evenings when we would watch tv in the living room and he would relax in a dog bed. He is such a love bug." Norma entered crowded Downey Shelter as a stray, and when she wasn't claimed during the required hold period, she soon became at risk for euthanasia. Shelter staff reached out for a safe exit for this sweet girl, and we welcomed Norma as a Frosted Face on July 23rd. She is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs 11 lbs. Norma is currently on a Frosted Field Trip receiving lots of TLC while we learn more about her in the comfort of a home. Check back for updates from her foster family!
