Story
Simba is a small adult dog with a sweet and loyal personality once he feels comfortable. He loves being around his person and enjoys a calm, structured environment. Simba is crate trained and does well with routine. He can be anxious in new situations and around unfamiliar people, which may cause him to bark or become defensive. He will likely bark quite a bit during the first few days as he adjusts to a new environment. Because of this, Simba would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands how to give him time and space to adjust. He would do best in a home without small children. Simba would do best in a house rather than an apartment, as he can be vocal at times. A home without carpet is preferred. Simba has so much love to give and forms a strong bond with his owner. With patience, consistency, and the right environment, he can be a very loyal and rewarding companion. We are looking for a home that can provide him with stability.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Leo. My owner started have an allergic reaction to me so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. The best home for me has people who have puppy experience who can help continue my training. I am sweet, very playful. I enjoy cuddling, playing with toys and being around people. I am house trained and crate trained. I even know some commands like sit, stay and outside. I do have a limp when I walk. I broke my back leg and it did not heal correctly. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. My name is Blue, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. The best home for me has people who have dog experience. I need a calm home with a fenced yard so I can run and play. I like riding in a car, but I am not fond of meeting other dogs when on a leash. I get scared and over react. I am not good at meeting strangers so I need an owner who can make the best decisions for me when people come to visit. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Nino is one sweet little Maltipoo and has already won over his foster in only moments!    BACK STORY ON NINO; Nino had a rough start to life.  While he had a home, it is apparent that his human didn’t spend much quality time with him. He arrived at his foster home very stressed and afraid. He doesn’t seem to have been exposed to much of the world, but he is curious to explore new things with gentle encouragement. He has his own little (poodle) personality and likes to cuddle up and receive attention. His fur is as soft as velvet! He’ll cuddle next to you on the couch but is also content to lounge on the floor next to your feet. He gets along with other dogs but doesn’t really interact with them.  Nino is a good eater and likes just about everything, including cucumbers and cauliflower! He enjoys exploring and walks well on leash.  He is house trained and will go to the door (or whine) when he needs to go outside.  He is very food driven and also very smart, which makes him easy to train.  He wants to please and will do just about anything for treats! He sleeps well (sleeps on his bed on the floor) and doesn’t demand to get up early (lets you sleep in if you want!)   Due to his slow start in life, Nino is a little on the nervous side.  He needs more time with a human parent who will help show him the world and build his confidence.  Obedience training with his new human is a requirement in order to continue building his trust and confidence.  He enjoys his training sessions with his foster mom and may eventually also like to do other forms of training such as agility. Nino is crate trained but doesn’t require being confined to a crate when he is home alone. He doesn’t get into things he shouldn’t, so hurting himself or making messes should not be much of a concern.  He is also fine with being left alone. I think he enjoys the peace and quiet Nino will need a quiet home with a person experienced with the poodle breed or who has a calm demeanor.  He tends to be concerned when meeting new people, so a household that has lots of people coming and going is not a good fit.    This little guy has the potential to make someone a great companion, but no small children.  He is curious about cats but doesn’t chase them.     If you are interested in Nino, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 4:37 pm
