Story
Otis came into our home at 8 weeks. He chose me really and I was smitten from the beginning. I will make this short. I need to rehome Otis because my son and I are still transitioning to our lives post divorce. As a one parent household my responsibility to my school aged son has to be priority. I love Otis. I truly am heartbroken to have him go elsewhere. But between my long hours of work and our many moments we have to be out of the house I can see he isn’t happy. I’ve hoped to be able to work from home more than just 1 day a week but that isn’t possible. I just don’t have the time or bandwidth to give him what he deserves and needs. Money is also a factor. Please if anyone out there reading this can provide a happy safe home, with a PRESENT playful energetic family please consider our pup Otis. I want for him to be able to live a full long joyful life in a good home and for him to bring the love, joy and companionship he brought me and I was hoping to have much much longer.

These pups are in Worcester, Massachusetts too!

Story
Meet Oliver! Oliver is COMING SOON! Foster Needed! Oliver should be ready early to mid-June. You can put in your applications now to get pre-approved and find out more about him from his foster. Olive has long long legs and teensy tiny footsie! He has the body of a mini poodle and the coat of a Shih Tzu. He loves to snuggle and be in your lap and sleep in your bed. Oliver wants his human all to himself though, so if you want him to sleep in your bed, you will have to be perpetually single! Orrrr, work with a positive trainer to work on his resource guarding. Speaking of resource guarding, leave him be when he is eating. Simple. No other dogs in the home to help Oliver feel safest. Oliver has fractured his teeth on his crate and becomes quite the cranky grumble but behind baby gates when other dogs are around. No crates for this guy but no worries about potty in the house as he is fully trained! Olive is scheduled for dental work which is why is not yet available. Oliver loves to sniff things outside and would love daily walks of any length to be able to stop and smell the roses all along his route. A harness is best as he hasn't received many walks and will need to keep working on not pulling. When he is out and about in the yard Oliver comes when called lickety splits! A silly thing about Oliver? Well, he sounds like he might eat you up for his next meal when he plays with you! He's just playing though. As his new parent, you should take the time to allow Oliver to decompress by himself for a few days as mentioned in the 3/3/3 rule of adoptions. And, you will eventually understand what all the grumps and grumbles of his sound like and which ones mean what. Oliver's ideal home would be a single adult or a couple who will use positive training to remove the guarding of his chosen person or to sleep in a dog bed entirely. He wants to be a shadow dog and would love a Mom or Dad who is home often if not always. *** If you are interested in finding out more about Oliver, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-75 Oliver is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $350. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
