Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fennel is an approximately 4 month old mixed breed puppy who came to us from an Amish farm. We are quite certain he will be a small adult dog, and he has fairly long hair. We don't know exactly what type of mix he is, but his appearance suggests perhaps poodle, yorkie, or shih tzu. All of his vet work is covered under his adoption fee of $150. This includes his neuter, microchip, and vaccinations, and depending on what is age appropriate, some of this may have to be coordinated with his adopter. We think he's a "teddy bear" type mix - maybe some poodle, yorkie, shih tzu, schnauzer. He has fairly long hair and is definitely a small breed mix type. Fennel will be vet checked, vaccinated, and chipped on May 26th. All of his basic vet work, including his neuter surgery when he's old enough, is covered under his adoption fee of $150. Fennel is an extremely shy pup. He is very sweet and does not mind being held and cuddled. We are working on bringing him out of his shell and are really looking forward to seeing his cute puppy side come out. Fennel will need a patient home that is willing to work with him as he learns to navigate the world. He will need a lot of basic training as he is still a puppy. He should do fine with another dog and cats. Because he is smaller and shy, he would do best in a home without really young kids.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 22, 2026, 10:49 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear came to the shelter as an owner surrender on May 20th. He'll be 2 years old in June and is maybe a mix of poodle, shih tzu, and maybe some bichon. We don't know exactly but her does have a somewhat fluffy and curly coat. Bear is a very loving, playful guy who has been neutered already. We are getting him vet checked and microchipped on May 28th and his fee is $150. Bear will require regular grooming to keep his coat clean and free of matting. He has had some basic training. As a younger dog, he will require regular exercise. He has done well with kids OVER 10 years old and with other smaller dogs. We don't think he would have any issues with cats.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Phoebe came to the shelter as an owner surrender on May 20th. She is only 6 months old. We were told that she's a cavalier/poodle mix, but to be honest, we don't really see the poodle part. She looks like a cavalier with longer legs and a very petite, delicate body. Right now she only weighs about 6 pounds. We will get Phoebe vet checked, chipped, and spayed on May 27th and her fee is $150. Phoebe is an incredibly loving, happy, and playful puppy. She will require basic training in all areas. Because she is so delicate, she's looking for a home without young kids or large dogs. She would do okay with another smaller dog and shouldn't have any issues with cats. Phoebe is a delightful girl!
