Story
Everyone meet Massy! He is a sweet and gentle cockapoo born in February of 2024 and currently weighs 17 lbs. His foster parents like to tell him he is "the cutest and goodest boy." His days consist of ample playtime, puzzles, napping, belly rubs and pets. He is quickly learning which toys roll, which ones squeak and which ones are good for chewing on. Boy does he love to chew!!! While he enjoys playing and running in the backyard with his foster sisters, he will always come back and check in with his foster parents to make sure they are still there supervising them. Because he is still a puppy and hasn't seen much of the world, he is a bit shy when meeting new human friends or is in a new environment. He does not readily approach anyone or give kisses when first meeting, but will warm up after he has time to observe and explore. He seems to do well with loud noises, such as the lawn mower or loud music or TV. He does not mind the robot vacuum at all, even when it touches him. He even sometimes tries to play with it. Ask his foster parents to see the video! He loves being part of a pack, so he splits up his time either following his foster sisters or foster mom around the house. While he does sleep through the night in his kennel, he does cry a little when he is first in there. If his kennel is placed right next to his parents' bed, he will not cry at all. If he is left completely by himself, he will cry and possibly bark for a short time before settling down. His foster family is working hard to ensure he feels more comfortable in his kennel and also with being alone. Aside from these two situations, he generally does not make any noise and does not bark even when his foster sisters are barking. He is extremely intelligent and is excelling in learning commands and understanding boundaries. He is also excelling in house training and has not had an accident since coming to stay with his foster family. He is under constant supervision and taken out every couple of hours to ensure his success. While he is still getting used to the act of putting a harness on and being leashed, he does well being walked on a leash over all. Of course if he is being walked in an unfamiliar area, he may be a bit hesitant for a few seconds but eventually will walk alongside you with a little pep. He has never met a cat so his foster parents are not sure how he would react to one but he has seen birds, squirrels and bunnies while in the backyard and has not had a negative reaction. He immediately took a liking to his foster sisters as they are the same size as him, but he has not met a dog larger than him. His foster family believes that with a slow introduction, he should be fine being around a cat or larger dog. Due to his overall sweet and calm demeanor, he does well with children of all ages and in the car/in public. He has gone to TJ Maxx, Home Depot and Home Goods and has gotten several praises about how good and calm he is as he is pushed around in the cart. His foster family is so impressed with all that he has learned and how well he is adjusting since coming to stay with them. While he would do well in a home with another dog to continue to teach him the ways of the world, he would also do well in a home as the only pup with continued training and patience. He absolutely cannot wait to meet you!!
