Story
Pet Location: Finch is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816)986-4426.My friends at Wayside say:- I am from a puppy mill situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn. - I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - My foster family said that I am house-trained, and working on crate training.- I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - I must go to a home that already has another friendly, social dog to show me the ropes.- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - A fenced yard is a must for me! I do not know how to walk on a leash, so I need a secure area to go out for potty breaks.- New people and things make me a little nervous. Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home. I’m shy and timid, too, and everything about life is new and strange to me, so please stay patient and calm with me as I figure things out. In many ways, my life is truly just beginning. I’m learning how to simply be a normal dog, and I’d love for you to join me on my journey. We’ll have so many milestones to celebrate together!I’m a darling, 7-month-old, 23-pound (and still growing!) Poodle/Golden Retriever mix, with the cutest little face, soft puppy fur, and an unassuming yet goofy and delightful personality. I’m already housebroken and I’ve been learning about crate training, too. I’m still a work in progress in so many ways, though, so please be gentle with me if I have accidents as I learn my new routine with you. I came to Wayside after being rescued from a puppy mill. It was a sad start to my life, but it was all I knew, so even getting rescued was scary. I trembled in my kennel at Wa
